We all know how the apocolypse goes. Destruction. Terror. Death. This is not about that. This is about what comes after that.
The earth has rebuilt...well, for the most part. The plants and animals are mutants. The trees are knarled and grotesqe. The oddities of plants have been magnified. The dirt it's self has turned black. The animals have gotten bigger or smaller. The colorful ones are more colorful. The smart ones have gotten smarter. The ugly ones have gotten uglier. The slow ones have gotten slower. The savage ones are more savage.
The animals are not a problem as long as they remain out of the cities scattered across the earth. It's the savage ones, the bold ones, that get in the way. These are eliminated with relative ease. It's the new ones that others are concerned about.
No one really knows where they come from, but they are not natural. They were created somewhere, but no one knows where. They're more of a problem than the natural animals, and they're appearing more frequently than usual. So the people of the cities are fighting back.
A lab in the center of the largest city has just finished their greatest experiement. They rescued teens who had been all but killed by the destruction and...altered them. They made them into prime fighting machines and sent them out to track down the mutant animals, kill them, and find their creators.

Natural
#Birds: The birds have become much larger and more rediculous looking. Many birds are edible. Eagles and Owls are dangerous and should be killed on sight. Full grown Eagles and Owls can carry away smaller humans that weight 100 pounds or less. Very fast and difficult to kill. Best strategy: stay out of sight in danger areas. Smaller team members may want to carry extra weight.
#Tigers/Lions: The big cats of the world have migrated all over the world now. They've grown larger and much more vicious. They're worse than the Eagles and Owls. They're nearly impossible to kill and will take at least three people to bring down without the use of heavy artilery. Their coats have changed to reflect the colors of their environments. Grays for mountains, browns for forest, tan for deserts, etc. Best strategy: Be cautious. Buddy system. Guns, guns, guns.
#Rodents: The rodents such as rabbits, squirrels, mice, etc, haven't changed much. They're smaller than average though, and rarely provide a good source of food. Good for stew and dried meat. Not dangerous.
#Deer: The antlers on deer have become large and the animals have become faster. They provide a good source of food and the antlers can be used against them using various traps, etc. Harder to catch, the team work can fix that. Not dangerous unless agrivated or thrashing in a trap.
#Fish: Fish live in the water of course. Rare and small, but good for emergency food. Not dangerous.

Mutated
#Words: Frightening crosses between birds and wolves. They're the size of normal wolves with large wings from various birds grafted to their backs. Eyes are luminous shades of yellow and green. They're fast, can fly, and travel in packs. Not wise to take alone. Best strategy: Team work. Buddy system. Guns. Nets.
#Ligers: Crosses between the Lions and Tigers with enhanced inteligence. These are as dangerous as Tiger and Lions as far a poweress, but they're more dangerous in the sense that they're smarter. They're also a bit taller and have very faint stripes. Their fangs are longer and their eyes are always a deep shade of blue.They're harder to trap and kill because of this. It will take the cooperation of the whole team to take one of these down. Best strategy: Overwhelm, trap, and beat the crap out of it with everything avalible.
#Agents: These are basically people who have been enhanced in speed and strength. Kill on sight. They are often scouts and warriors trying to stop you. You'll run into these more often the closer you get to your destination, so they're a good sign in a way.

#Cyborg Enhancement (Cyborgs): If you are enhanced this way, it means some part of your body was damaged beyond repair and has been replaced by an artificial substitute. Most common are limbs. These cybernetic limbs are stronger than regular limbs, but do not have a normal sense of feeling. Limb can be covered by a glove or boot to protect the technology. Eyes are also common and often function as telescopes, thermal cameras, and other special lenses. These eyes are color blind though and may clash with functioning eyes to provide a slightly distored view.
#Animal Enhancement (Hybrids): If you are enhanced this way, it means your DNA has been merged slightly with that of an animal, most often a feline, canine, or bird. You won't be affected outwardly, but your mind will change and so will your senses. You'll see, hear, and smell better. Your will have the instincts of your animal (Cat people hate water, wolf people hate being alone, carnivors will hate eating plants, etc.) You will more often than not be controlled by your instincts, despite your personality before enhancment. Animal people are often scouts.
#Electric Enhancement (Statics): If you are enhanced this way, it means small electric generators have been placed in your shoulders and elbows. These generators generate more electricity depending on how hard you concentrate. Metal laces your arms and if enough charge builds up, electricity will shoot from your fingers and electrocute those nearby. Charges almost never get large enough to kill (takes an immense amount of concentration.) Charges are uncontrollable and very dangerous (electricity can't be aimed in only one direction.) Not particularly dangerous to you unless your arms get wet. Water shorts out the generators and they will backfire onto you instead of discharging their electricity. You may accidentally shock others if you touch them. Insulating gloves are a good idea.
#Thermal Enhancement (Thermals): If you are enhanced this way, it means tiny coils have been places along your arms. These coils generate heat and are linked to your brain. The more you concentrate, the hotter they get. Good for burning enemies. Not dangerous if your arms get wet, but if they get too hot they may burn your skin and muscles. Be careful about this. May accidentally burn others. Insulator gloves are a good idea.
#Vocal Enhancement (Whistlers): If you are enhanced this way, it means your vocal chords have been altered. You can now mimic the voices of other among other sounds such as bird songs, chain saws, car alarms, anything you can think of. You can also produce a painfully high pitched wail. It can immobilize others around you, enemies and friends alike. The wail can't be repeated very many times before your vocal chords begin to give out. Like any other vocal chords, they must be rested after extensive use.
#Blood Enhancement (Boilers): If you are enhanced this way, it mean your blood has been altered. Your blood is now a powerful acid that you yourself are impervious to. A cut is required to get the blood out. Injuries hard to bandage as the acid eats through most all materials. Best for infiltration and stealth attacks. Don't touch others if you are injured as you may burn them. Boilers provided with special gloves that the acid can't eat through.

Right eye, Right forearm, Right leg. Eye converted to thermal camera. Overlays with her working eye so sometimes it's hard for her to perceive depth, color, and...well...most things that involve fine details. She has an extremely crude sense of feeling in her right limbs. She wears a glove and a long boot over the cybernetic parts. High amounts of electricity can cause her limbs to stop moving for a little while or until she can repair the circuits. Water isn't good for her limbs either.

Farah's thin, but not so much that she looks like a stick. She's not very filled out as far as curves go. There's just enough there to confirm that she's a girl.

Her real eye is brown. Her cybernetic eye is sort of metallic white with a black pupil-like lens in the center. It's sort of uncanny and creepy, quite frankly.

She's very bitter about her enhancements and what happened to her. Fire turns her into a frightened little girl with not a squick of bravery in her.

History:
Farah's story begins at the Apocalypse's end. In the chaos, she was unable to find shelter. An explosion trapped her under a pile of burning rubble. When she was rescued, the doctors found that her right arm and leg had been so badly crushed that amputation was the best option for her. Her eye was also damaged beyond repair. The fire had badly burned her whole right side and damaged the hair follicles on her right side that her hair never grew back as thick as before.
Before she was set to have her limbs amputated, the scientists at the lab stepped in and convinced the doctors to let them try their own surgery that would give her use of her limbs again. They fulfilled this by giving her cybernetic limbs and a new eye. With most of the focus on her limbs, her skin didn't receive the full medical attention it should have and it scarred. They appointed her as the leader for the beast hunting team.

He doesn't always think about the consequences of his actions. He's over all a fun loving, happy person (if not just a wee bit annoying.) It's a different story when it comes to his enhancements. He's jittery around sharp objects and freaks out a bit when he starts bleeding. He doesn't like carrying a knife around, but Farah insisted he carry it in case he needed to use his...abilities.

History:
Dominic isn't sure how this happened to him. He has a vague memory of stumbling through wrecked buildings and explosions going off. He remembered falling on the ground and being surrounded by his own blood. Then drifting in and out of consciousness as the scientists went to work making him what he is today. He's not sure where his family is, but the scientists told him that they were lost. He was upset for a long time, but he was forcibly broken out of his depression when he was put on the beast hunting team. He still has nightmares sometimes, though.
Not good with weapons. Put on the beast hunting team because of his excellent observation and tracking abilities. He's sort of wimpy, but he's sharp.
