Well they made it all the way from Bag End to the other side of the Misty Mountains in one movie. Most of that is spent travelling, with a few minor setbacks (goblins and trolls... Maybe minor is an understatement). My guess is that the next movie is them getting from Beorn's house all the way to Laketown and into Esgaroth. Then, the third movie will include all the stuff about Smaug and Laketown and the Mirkwood elves being bothersome and the Battle of Five Armies and all of that extra stuff PJ has promised us that he's taken from Tolkien's notes, and we might see a bit of Bilbo's return Journey, not to mention the auction at his house and then ending the movie by tying it in neatly into the Lord of the Rings, keeping in mind that this movie started as a narrative by Future Bilbo.
