I'm Christian (to a point), but I really don't understand the super religious people that won't allow their kids to see movies like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter or read those same books...

My uncle is that way...and he acts like I'm going to start making potions and flying around the house on a broomstick...

I only wish that could happen XD

One of my neighbors is a follower of a religion that won't let her believe in magic or have anything to do with anything to do with magic... ex: hp, LotR, Septimus heap, percy jackson, etc. it's sad

It's just so ridiculous. Lord of the Rings, and all Tolkien's works, is one of those things that's just so amazing with all the history and characters and the amazing story...but it's not real. And that's the beauty of it; believing in something and loving something because it's different from reality, and maybe even an escape sometimes. It's nice to have that opportunity. People who limit themselves because they are so into their religion...I feel like they miss out on some of the wonderful worlds that people create in books. They might be happy in that...but they also condemn anything like Lord of the Rings...for quite silly reasons, in my opinion...
