> What got you into watching anime?
Ouran High school host club I think? it was that and CCS
> How long have you been watching anime?
On and off for about 10 years now (Kinda picky about what shows I watch so I don't watch a lot of anime -like at most maybe 2 shows a season)
> What are some of your favorite anime?
CCS especially clear card, Revue starlight, Love Live Nijigasaki (best LL fite me), Yuri on Ice and Aggretsuko.
> Do you also read Manga?
Nope
> Have you ever done any sort of cosplay?
Yes. my first anime cosplay was Honey from OHSHC, but now have a large box that is just idol cosplay or idol adjacent.
> What’s your favorite genre of anime?
Idol/music series.
> Do you watch dubbed, subbed, or neither?
A mix actually.
CCS, Ouran High school host club, Yuri on Ice and Aggretsuko I will ALWAYS watched dubbed.
I admit the OG dub for CCS is bad, but nostalgia goggles are a thing, and it's nice seeing the queer subtext left in tact with clear card.
> What are some good recommendations for those just starting out?
If you want to try your hand at idol anime,
you can't go too wrong with Love Live School idol project.
You like more action focused but still with singing, maybe try Revue starlight, with operatic ballards being belted by the girls mid stage fights
Somewhere in between is Lapis Re:Lights. The idols attend an academy for witches so they lean more into the magical girl aspects with the performances
Aggretsuko and way of the househusband are fun, light stress relief type anime and the metal edge to the soundtrack tends to add to the comedy of both shows. and with episodes on the shorter side they can sometimes be what you need to just have a quick laugh between other things
I've also watched, assassination classroom, rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai, my next life as a villianess, angel beats, 22/7, show by rock, SAO, K-on, tokyo Mew mew, cells at work and anohana. as well as being caught up with Love Live's multiple series.
I don't like all of these series, but i've watched them. more action focused series don't tend to hold my interest as much since I watch a lot of that with more western shows and use anime to wind down and relax and action shows aren't a good fit for that.
Currently watching: Selection Project. So far I like the cast and the music's been great!
About to binge: My next life as a villianess season 2 and Kageki Shojo
Currently hyped for: love live nijigasaki season 2, mostly because they are bringing Shioriko and Mia from the game to the anime. But gotta wait until april for that. as well as the new season of aggretsuko coming in december.
Just finished Cells at work season 2, Lapis Re:LiGHTS, and Love Live Superstar.
