Why do you think Tolkien deleted these original scenes from the book?
His publisher told him too O.o i figure his publisher didn't approve of it so he never put it in there.

Agreeing with Thranduil on this one. ^^; Though, he also could've felt like it didn't fit in very well with the rest of the story(ies)? Just a thought.

I would say that he chose to remove them from his books during revisions; whether it just fancied him to change those parts or if it was from it changing the feel of the book. From what I can imagine from what would ensue after those events (if they were incorporated into the books), it would detract from the main focus of the books.
