hmmm,, I'm gonna guess little nightmares? or minecraft though it doesn't really rely on horror/thriller BUT it definitely can be XD

mine are
- small mammals that sleep a lot and scream at you until you pet them or give them food
- small hairless animals that poop everywhere and do nothing all day
- cartoon where some random kid enters a portal and gets adopted by an old lady and her rat thing

My favorite games are: Anime animal fighting but the animals don't actually get hurt,
An oversized gold ball giving some post-Apocalypse survivor guys immorality to fight some evil geometry and kill some evil alien cult gods all for the sake of getting a weapon with that one perk.
A 3D block game that is actually good and not a blatant ripoff.

if i had a nickel for every time two sun/moon-themed siblings that were gods had a very bad quarrel in which the youngest sibling envies the eldest to the point of them wanting to perform evil shenanigans, which then results to the eldest banishing the other to the moon for a centuries... i'd have two nickels.

it isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

A game about an ancient hero robot awakening after a hundred years, after a war he awaked from before that, so he does the only logical thing and destroys multiple dystopian monarchs and everyone who gets in his way of peace, including his old friend but as an edgy copy, a rebel leader who pulls a Coin from the Hunger Games, The edgy copy but alive again, the protagonist’s past but literal, and an evil scientist who may or may not have been his original creator. He still doesn’t get a happy ending.

A game about depression but also lets you fight a planet as a ridiculously buff anime dude.
