I've never really liked the idea of the ENTIRE series centering around Thunderclan, apart from the SE's. Can we please have a special cat in Riverclan or something? And that Prologue talk between Wind, Shadow, Thunder, and River made me cringe. Once again, Thunder is the calm, ultimate leader, just like he is in DoTC!

On another note, Erin is a jerk when it comes to naming some cats. One-eye. Halftail. Smallear. Runningnose. (Temporarily) Lostface. Clawface. Raggedstar. Brokenstar. Crookedstar.The list goes on, feel free to add to it.

This thing is though, One-eye, Halftail, Smallear and Crookedstar were all renames.

But that's Clan society, and they take renames very seriously. One-eye, Halftail and Smallear would have all consented to having their names changed. I'm not sure about Crookedstar, however, as I haven't read the super edition.

Yeah, there are two One-eyes but the tom really deserves his name. Never liked him.
There's a cat named Oddfoot. Stop it. Lostface? No.
Tigerstar was going to be named Hammerclaw. What has Warriors come to??

Apologies for not updating yet, guys! I've been caught up in other business.

Erin Hunter is incredibly inconsistent with how renaming is seen, but I've always held the belief that it's pretty honorable. Cats who should have died of their injuries or are immensely crippled are the only ones who get renames (Halftail, Crookedjaw, Deadfoot), and that's to commemorate their survival of that injury.

Bluestar may have named Lostface to stick it to StarClan, but that's a pretty big injury to survive. No matter what my leader might have intended with that name, I would have worn it as proudly as my injury. Other Clans might be startled to see a face that's half destroyed, but they would be much more impressed that an apprentice was so badly damaged and yet still goes out to hunt and fight for their Clan.

He didn't consent. His mother renamed him as a kit. He felt so bad he ran away for a moon.

Halftail lost his tail, had to retire. Berrynose lost his tail and became a senior warrior. Plus, I'm pretty sure that they worked more on climbing trees in the later arcs than they did in Halftail's.
