shudder just came out with this gwar documentary and i watched it and i LOVED IT, if you have the time ( its an hour and 50 mins) i say you should watch it, even if ur not a gwar fan, great explination of their history an absolutely a big staple in metal history. it was so good

that's defo music that got me into heavier music many years ago but it's also something I cannot listen to anymore (besides Slipknot, THE NOSTALGIA oh my) Are bands like Of Mice and Men still making new music? I Austin Carlile still a thing? Man this throws me back to other times haha and I have no idea if this scene is still alive!? Good memories tho!!

Oh my goooshh what a fun thread to find!!! Some of my fav bands are Boris, LADYBABY, Kittie, Judas Priest, Dio, Anthrax, Slayer, Skid Row and Slipknot!! Judas Priest and Dio in particular had the biggest chokehold on me in high school 💀

I've also been listening to a lot of punk lately?? Not sure how much overlap there'd be there but 👀

I don't consider myself a metalhead but I'm a massive Iron Maiden fan (saw them live a bit over a month ago!!) and enjoy a fair share of classic heavy/power metal. Good to see this thread

Oh, sick, a metalhead thread!! I love seeing all the types of metal here- looks like a lot of power metal, which is SICK!! The guy in my signature is from the album cover for Judas Priest's Painkiller.

Personally I listen to all kinds of metal from all sorts of years, but a lot of it is nu-metal and stuff like that, and most of it, naturally, is 90s-2000s. I listen to a little bit of Powerwolf and stuff too, though!

Some good stuff I like that I didn't see on the list are The Union Underground, Static-X, (Hed) P.E., Powerman 5000, and Mastodon, or some songs like New Disease by Spineshank, Stupid Girl by Cold, Sun Doesn't Rise by Mushroomhead, Dig by Mudvayne, or Do You Call My Name by Ra. :>

I also recently discovered one called Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom that's an absolute banger. I've never really heard much else by 'em though...

edit: Ooh Sevendust too. And people make fun of them but Drowning Pool has some really good stuff - Love & War is an absolute fav song.
