so guys, i started writing a rosemary fanfic! this is the first chapter in case you wanted to read it! i am going to post a thread on chicken smoothie, so make sure to watch for it! it takes place from a different timeline than the alpha timeline, but pretty much everything in the past was the same as in the alpha. the two timelines only diverge once rose and dave meet the trolls in person.
also, if you are interested, i would love for someone to draw me a cover for this fanfiction! just pm me with an artwork sample and i'll take you into consideration.

My mouth dropped. I quickly closed it, before she could see. It had been so long since I had last seen her. How could she have changed so much? She held herself with a poise so regal, and her eyes were all-knowing, wise. They scanned the crowd of trolls, looking over me as if I were made of air. My heart sank in disappointment. Of course, she had never seen me prior, so how could she recognize me? I would have to go talk to her myself. But how could I? Nervous energy racked my body. Talking to her through Trollian was easy, but this . . . This was different.

Luckily, her eyes swept over my friends one last time, before settling on my face. I smiled shyly at her, and recognition registered in her face like a bolt of lightning. Settling on the ground at last, she quietly walked over to me, occasionally glancing away from my face to issue a polite "excuse me" to a passing troll.

"Kanaya?" she asked.

"Hello, Rose," I said awkwardly, submersing us in silence. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. Her old gridark outfit from the end of her visible timeline was gone. In its place was a Seer god tier outfit, in a warm and sunny palette. I beamed. She achieved god tier. I felt a surge of pride rush through my veins, almost as if I were the one who was now a god. I pushed the strange feeling aside, admiring how her Seer of Light attire complemented her eyes. They were a lovely gray color blended with a slight shade of lavender. I couldn't see that before, on Trollian. I guessed there was still a lot to discover about Rose.

"Um . . . Kanaya, maybe we should go somewhere else." She motioned to Karkat, who was starting to hyperventilate. He was about to rage about something, that much was sure. I smiled, amused.

"Sure, let's go." I accidentally grabbed Rose's hand. Her hand was cool and her fingers were slim and long. I dropped it, mumbling an embarrassed apology.

"No, it's perfectly fine." She took my hand, gripping it firmly. "Lead the way!"

I reluctantly turned my back to Rose, pulling her down one of the many halls built on the meteor. We walked in silence, but it was a good kind of silence. One that wasn't awkward.

"You're not rambling on as I thought you would, Kanaya," Rose said teasingly.

I smiled, turning around to glance at her. "You know, just shyness. I'm a lot more outgoing on the Alterninet." I didn't explain that I was so shy because she terrified me. Being around her made my heart beat fast and my head buzz with each word she spoke. It was scary, but it felt right. Her hand in mine was a welcome sensation, and I dazedly smiled in contentment. Rose was here with me, and we were safe from the scratch.

aww, thank you! that made my day because my one friend irl read it, frowned, and said she is not interested in it whatsoever. ;n; but i'm glad to see it has some positive feedback!
