When I made my WindClan warriorsona I just completely ignored what it said in the books about WindClan cats being small and gave her a wiry body with long legs just because it seemed more logical to me. I also agree about RiverClan having long fur- I mean, wasn't the reason Graystripe almost drowned because of the weight of his fur, and not because he couldn't swim?

There's also the general stereotype of ThunderClan cats being huge, which makes no sense. If you live in an open area that requires a little muscle to keep under control (like ShadowClan), then fine, but a big, bulky cat doesn't belong in a forest (especially when your life revolves around sneaking through the underbrush and climbing trees). Take a look at every wild cat in the jungle and such - they're all pretty lanky and agile.

In one of the books, it mentioned how WindClan or RiverClan, either one of thoses, looked at acted the same. (It was in POT) I went to the ranks of the Clan- Hey, look at that! A brown tabby, a cream cat, a white cat, gray cat, and calico, well.. Those cats really look the same, don't you think?
im quitting this game, i dont even enjoy it anymore, but i really did while it lasted!

Well, guess who's reading Mapleshade's Vengeance? Do you know how DUMB some of the cat's names are? Here are some.
Shyheart
Birchface
Beetail
Eeltail
Spiketail
Midgepelt

Like.... what?
And, there's at least one good part. The maps! Anyone want pictures of them?

Honestly, out of the names you listed, I only have a problem with Shyheart and Spiketail. The rest could conceivably be traditional names. That being said... Shyheart. Really.

hiya, i've been stalking this thread since it started and i love it but i never had the nerve to post ^^
i especially love the segments on world-building and everything the hunter's missed out on, the series could have been so good if any of them had put in just a little effort [especially if that effort had been in character development.]
i've been dying to post this for ages but i can't hold it back any longer. one thing that has always bugged me though is when fireheart brings cloudkit to camp and he's taunted about how cloudkit won't be a good warrior because of his white pelt. i mean, we've never heard of whitestorm having any problems because of his white pelt, have we, so why would cloudkit be any different?
and, as much as i hate to defend the hunters, birchface, beetail and eeltail are all viable traditional names. but then, i doubt they actually match their names so they're probably moot anyway ... shyheart //shot.

Thrilled to have you here, cujo! I'm really glad some people are enjoying the worldbuilding discussions.

Cloudkit is, simply, a mess of a character. I would honestly have gotten rid of him entirely because he doesn't really add anything of value to the story. All of his arc can be taken out and nothing would be changed.

The (personality)heart names are soooo dumb. Granted, two of them are in honor of dead folk, but they're no less cringeworthy.

What's wrong with Birchface, Beetail, and Eeltail?
