Ashfang-
Her name actually changes from Ashfang to Ashclaw; it really depends on whether or not I'm going to make her quick to snap or not, lol.
Tigerstep-
I actually chose this name for a few reasons. Tiger: I decided on this in part because of how she looks, but also because, like a tiger, she has hunted and fought on her own and for herself for a long time. It's a way to remember her past, if anything else. Step: I chose this because she has had to change drastically to be who she is now. She went from a loner who was forced to kill if it meant surviving, to a cat who is connected to StarClan and heals her fellow warriors. By using step, I'm highlighting the fact that she's changed who she is, and perhaps that she will change in the future. Both of these names mean either her past or her future, and that's for a reason. She has never been able to live 'in the moment'. She has always had to dwell on the past and anticipate the future in order to stay alive. Now that she can actually take a breath and just live, and with the name being both the past and the present, the meaning of the name is basically that she is at peace.
Bluewhisker-
He really is a big doof. I love him, lol!
Littlepaw-
He is named more for the fact that he's never really noticed and less for his size, though his rather small for a tom. I chose thorn as his suffix because you never truly notice a thorn until you step on it. It's the same way for him. No one ever really acknowledged him until he put his life on the line to attack the bird that would have killed his friend.

I think our problem here is that we're using two different naming styles. I'm using traditional, and you're using something like half-traditional, half-symbolic.
Especially with Tigerstep. Prefix is meant to represent appearance only, and -step is a correlating suffix that means the cat walks/acts like their prefix. Since the warriors have never seen tigers, they wouldn't know how they walk or act, so Tigerstep isn't very viable. Does that make sense?
Although since she joined the Clan later in life, if her leader and Clanmates are willing to let her have that symbolic name, it could be fine. That really depends on how your world-building.
Again, prefixes are for appearance only. How would his mother have known when he was born that he would be frequently overlooked? She only would have thought, 'oh, he's runty', and named him Littlekit for that - his being overlooked would come later. If his mother wasn't attentive to him, she's not a very good parent.
I don't think suffixes should be given for a specific event. Wouldn't you rather have a suffix acknowledging your skill - a way you can help support your Clan until you retire or die - than one specific event?
I don't know Littlepaw's skills, but say he's an excellent hunter, and he's very proud of that. His suffix should be -whisker, but his leader says, "Hey, I know you're a fantastic hunter, but that time you saved your friend from an owl? That was way cool. So instead of naming you for your hunting skills, we're going to name you after that thing you did." I can't imagine Littlepaw would feel great about that. And while everyone would be very impressed with him for taking down an owl, and they might always remember that, Littlepaw could very well remain the overlooked.
Sorry that was so drawn out, but I hope it made sense and helped make my point. Thank you, also, for explaining your name choices - it's always very neat to hear that.

I have a name I was curious to know about. I know the suffix -step is used with how they walk/act with their prefix..would a name like Rainstep work?

It would not. -step should only be used with fauna prefixes that have legs.
There's a few posts on Ailuronymy about it, but I can't access tumblr right now. If you go to that blog and search 'Rainstep', it should pull them up, but only do that if you're comfortable with a lot of swearing. If you're not, PM me and I'll send you edited versions of the posts when I can.

Name: ??? (need suggestions)
Gender: Tom
Rank: Warrior
Description: Dilute ginger tabby with a white streak on his face, white paws, and white splotches on his body. He has dark green eyes that can appear to be gray or black depending on the lighting. (xXx)
Brief personality: (???) is quiet and patient, and tries not to trust others immediately. He likes many aspects of Clan life better than his loner life, such as being able to trust others and living with a very large, extended family through blood and friendship, something he never could experiance as a loner. However, he never really believed in some aspects such as StarClan. Afterall, to him, he never saw evidence of ghostly cats watching over the Clans. He would much rather live his life with the Clan relying on the other cats rather than dead beings that may not help. But he can't help wonder if StarClan is real, and longs to belong to it after he dies, and see his friends and possibly his family again.
Brief history: (???) was a loner for part of his life, when he was found in Clan territory at the average age of an apprentice. He was taken in, being so young and appearing not to be a threat. There was some confusion as to his mentor, and the Clan didn't trust him right away. As a slowly proved himself, pushing himself to the limit, he gained the trust of other apprentices and warriors, though older members of the Clan never fully trusted (???). He became one of the best hunters and trackers in the Clan, as his loner background allowed him to be extremely stealthy as well as still for long periods of time. He likely will never become deputy or leader, but instead retire as an elder, or die as a warrior.
Skills: (???) is very quiet and patient, leading to his prowess in hunting and tracking. He can stay still for long periods of time, something which helps when tracking a bird or spying on others. He does have a fear of strangers, and will stay still until the other makes a threatening move towards him, at which point he will run back to his Clan's camp. (???) isn't very fast or strong, but he is very bright, and can work out battle scenarios in his head, and makes plans to avoid the worst of his scenarios.
Other: I actually found a smilar feral cat that I'm basing this character off of. I followed (him/her) for a bit, we stared at each other, and then (he/she) ran away.

Name: Russetfrost
Description: Russetfrost is a long-haired, russet coloured RiverClan she-cat. She has bright green eyes and white paws, with a white tail tip.
Skill/Personality Notes: She is especially good at fighting and swimming and often likes to just swim around whenever she has time to spare. She's rather calm and collected, serious when she needs to be, care-free when she's alone and comfortable.(is that enough? ;u; )
Name: Pinefall
Description: Pinefall is a short-haired dark orange and white tabby tom who lives in WindClan. He is a medicine cat with amber eyes.
Skill/Personality Notes: He has a very good memory and very fast, even for a WindClan cat. When he isn't in the medicine den or training his apprentice, Tumbleweed, he likes to run. He's quiet and observant and would have made an excellent warrior if he hadn't felt such a pull to the medicine den when he was younger.

Hello again, Simonpet!
What a pretty tabby, oh man.
For his prefix, check the list linked on the front page - you'll find what works for you much more quickly that way.
On suffix, I'm definitely inclined more toward -whisker, but -nose could also work. It seems that his hunting skill is more notable than his tracking, though.
Sorry this is so short; you wrote so much! But I greatly appreciate all that you put into this. Good luck finding a prefix~

Hello, Peanut Butter Cookie! Your descriptions and notes are prefect, thank you~
Russetfrost's prefix is excellent, but I must object to her suffix. From what I've seen, -frost usually denotes a cold and/or hostile cat, which is negative and also doesn't seem to fit your cat. Suffix should be given for skills and then personality, and should always be positive.
I would definitely push for -stream or -claw with her, depending on whether her swimming or fighting skills are more notable within her Clan. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that even in RiverClan, swimming for pleasure is a bit odd, and I think that would push more for -stream. You can read up on these suffixes through the second link on the front page.
On Pinefall - Scots pines aren't orange - they've got grey-brown bark, with blue-green needles, and therefore pine- indicates a grey-brown or blue-grey cat. I'm going to point you to the prefix list linked on the front page for this fellow, for you to check out the Ginger/Red section.
For suffix, I'd definitely go for -foot. If he's fast for a WindClan cat, he absolutely deserves it.
I hope this was helpful~ If you have any further questions, feel free to drop them here or send me a PM, if you'd prefer.

This is for my unnamed cat. I've already decided on using the suffix -whisker, but I'd like some suggestions from you as to what two/three prefixes would fit him best. Below:
- Apple-
- Morning-
- Tawny-
- Thrift-
- Yarrow-
- Tip-
