Edit;; Arcaii, you're so talented. This thread is amazing, made me laugh, I'm passing threw so many flaws and I didn't even know! You're making me sord of want to get into writting a bit more often, I remember when I was little I'd right fables and draw some pictures to go with it.^^ Aww, good ol' times.
It's hard to see since all I usually draw is her top half, and that's anthropomorphized like crazy, but Sootstorm in general is supposed to be lanky and angular. I have a ref lying around somewhere, but the tail being impossibly long with 90-degree kinks is intentional (it's supposed to be a little bit longer than her body). I'll have to see if the ref is still up to date...that is, if I can find it.
And holy jeez, thank you! Education and helpful tips are all part of the game here - if you wanna get back into writing, please do! I'm always hyped to see people's writing, especially if inspired by this silly thread.

I REMEMBER READING THAT AND BEING VERY UPSET. INTO THE RECOMMENDATIONS IT GOES.

medicine cats having mates is so boring tbh, what's even the point. everything is boring. whatever.
That is true. Fleeting crushes on older warriors is just fine (and I wouldn't even complain if a cat confessed to it once they were older), but actually going into a relationship (especially almost immediately after they reach warriorhood) is...eugh.
The chastity of medicine cat life is such an interesting thing, it's boggling that no one thinks to explore it. I mean, these are animals, and animals are not known to willingly avoid taking a mate. Any animal, much less a cat, that straight up refuses to take even the slightest notice of romance is going to seem really strange to outsiders, and maybe even their Clanmates. What kind of animal can so easily ignore the prospect of having kits (if they're female) or the scent that carries whenever someone's in heat?
Imagine if one of the books had been dedicated to discussing this idea, and how it affects those under the bind of healerhood. That would've been tight.

Then again, if I was writing Warriors, a lot of things would be changing, lol
Hear, hear! The afterlife aspect in general has always been one of the weakest points of the series especially with a copout like reincarnation.
