Silxe wrote:Description: Silky white molly with hazel eyes and a pointed pink nose.
Skill/Personality Notes: She has an air of elegance about her, and walks with a refined flow. She doesn't posses any notable skills.

Name: Stagheart
Description: Very tall brown tom with some white on his chest, and a bit around his amber eyes.
Skill/Personality Notes: He is also a more refined warrior, but not quite as much. He is brave and very loyal to his clan. He is aware he seems intimidating, and has no qualms using this to his advantage, as he sees it as a perk that will help him and the ones he cares about.

Hi again, Silxe. Sorry this has taken so long; I've been busy preparing for finals.

For your first cat, check the White section of the prefix list linked on the front page. You might be able to find a fitting -step name with that walk; I suggest looking into that. If not, is -face a possibility? How does the Clan as a whole feel about her appearance? If not that, -fur or -pelt would be best.

On Stagheart - stick with Deer-, not Stag-. I advise avoiding gendered prefixes. His colours work, and his personality seems to be great for -heart. What do you mean by a 'refined warrior', though? Would -claw be better?

aquagalaxy wrote:Name: Rainwing
Description: grey cat with silver markings, white muzzle, tail tip and paws, teal eyes
Skill/Personality Notes: caring, shy around strangers, fun, emotional
Skillles are speed, and high jumper

Hello, aquagalaxy. Nice to have you here.

Do you mean Rainwing is a grey broken tabby? In that case, the markings would be darker; I don't believe a grey tabby can have lighter markings.
Her prefix is excellent for her appearance, but I'd recommend going for -foot on her suffix.
I hope this helps; thank you for writing in!

    Hello to you, lady chocobo.

Oakheart's name is absolutely perfect, and he sounds like an interesting character; he might have to keep his beliefs to himself a bit more, though. I'm sure the leader of his Clan would be keeping a close eye on him. Happy writing!

Yep, tabbies can't have lighter markings. The markings are always darker.

thank you for rating oakheart! c: here's another character or two.

Image

Name: Badgerstep/claw
Description: tom with a black and white pelt
Skills/Personality: very good at fighting, gentle and is very protective of small cats. known for being audacious.
Notes: has a parent who was a kittypet and good at getting into mischief. needs to be told what to do and has a speech impediment [he stutters when he's nervous]. has a distinctive gait, similar to a badger. he loves to collect twoleg things.

Image
Name: Laurelclaw
Description: white molly with green eyes
Skills/Personality: Laurelclaw is very skilled in medicine; she showed interest in herbs at an early age and were apprenticed to the medicine cat when the time came. Even though she's a medicine cat, she still feels she should know how to fight and defend herself, especially to protect her clanmates. has been known to rush into battle and drag an injured warrior away to safety to be treated. She protects her clan from both infection and enemies.

Image
Name: Larkfur
Description: brown molly with yellow eyes
Skills/Personality: Larkfur was a loner who joined the clan when she was a year old. She has no permanent mate and thus, her kits are a mix-match of colors. She is very fierce and ruthless, and doesn't mess around when it comes to her kits safety. When she was on her own, she would sometimes eat the kitten if it was deformed or sickly. Now that she's in a clan, she hasn't had to do that - yet. She's a tough mother, and doesn't coddle her kits, feeling they should learn about the world through their mistakes/experiences.
Notes: no notable skills, hence the -fur suffix.

Warrior Cat Names {Critiques and Advice} {Traditional}

Postby atii » Thu May 28, 2015 7:52 am

        hello! ^w^
i'd like a bit of advice on my name for this little molly, as i have been struggling on finding a name that fits her in my eyes. i try my best to stay within the traditional guidelines, but sometimes i stretch the rules a bit.

the name i'm thinking about for this beauty is maplenose or sorrelwhisker, but truthfully i'm not really sure.
both maple- and sorrel- are for her torti appearance, while -nose is for her excellent tracking and -whisker is for her wonderful hunting skills. anyway, onto the rest of her personality.

this molly is a very sassy individual with her sharp tongue and quick wits. she is incredibly impatient and snappy which makes her quick to lash out if you do something that displeases her. these traits cause her to be brutally honest and judgmental towards other cats. she will refuse to admit if she does anything wrong, however, which leads her to be very obstinate.
although she does have her thorns on the outside, she is still a rose on the inside. she is very audacious will do whatever she can to protect the ones she loves even if she must die in the process. when she gets close to a cat, she isn't afraid to show her affection towards him/her. she is extremely compassionate towards these cats, but it takes a lot of work to get her there.
she is an incredible tracker and rather light on her paws. her skills in tracking and and quiet gait causes her to be a great hunter.

    Hello again, lady chocobo!

Badgerstep/claw sounds like a fantastic cat and either suffix would work excellently. I would personally lean toward -step - I think he's got the personality traits and gait for it - but it really depends on how worthy he is of -claw. What an interesting character, too.

Laurelclaw is a wonderful name for your molly. It's very interesting that she was able to earn the -claw suffix as a medicine cat, and I'm glad you explained that. Very cool choices!

Larkfur's name is excellent. She's an intriguing character as well, and I appreciate the realism you've added.

Thank you for writing in again - this was a pleasure to read! I hope I helped some on Badgerstep/claw. Keep on doing what you're doing!

Hello, atiicus! I'm happy to have you here.

On prefix for your molly, I would suggest looking for something indicating a darker pelt; both maple- and sorrel- are for predominantly ginger cats, and your molly looks like she's got a lot more black than ginger.
For her suffix, I'd recommend -nose. Her hunting ability is a result of her tracking skills, and her adeptness at tracking would show in other places, too.
She sounds like a very interesting character - I'm happy about all the lovely kitties sent in today! I hope this helped; feel free to write in again if you have any more questions, or just to tell me what you decided for her name - I would love to know.

    Name: Mosskit | Mosspaw
    Gender: She-cat
Rank: Kit | Apprentice | Warrior
    Description: xXx
Other: Mosskit is not well developed enough for a personality or for a proper skill set. I just wanted to know if the prefix Moss- although untraditional suites her.

gender; she-cat.
rank; warrior.
skills//personality; she is a sweet, shy and caring warrior, and she gets along with every cat in her clan. She loves kits and helps queens look after their kits, so she spends alot of time in the nursery. She is also a very skilled hunter.

alright, thank you. not entirely sure on her official name yet, but it's going to end in nose c:

        name: mousefoot
        gender: tom
appearance: he is a tad smaller than the other cats, but he is lean and well muscled. he's a chocolate brown color with striking amber eyes.
personality: you could say that life moves a bit too slowly for the tom. he's very impatient and quick to snap, and when he does he isn't afraid to let all his anger out. however, he is faster with his tongue than he is with his claws. if a cat wants to fight, you'll see him running of like lightening. although he has a few patience issues, he is one of kinder cats. he's very bold and is almost always seen striking up a conversation with almost any cat. he is very energetic and loves to play around with the apprentices and kits. he is also very forgiving as he has a hard time holding a grudge against a cat for very long.
skills: he is a very quick and graceful runner.

mouse - his small frame combined with his brown coat
foot - he is extremely skilled at running

Hello again! There's actually a chance that moss- could work traditionally in certain locations, as Irish moss grows in various locations in England and has tiny white flowers - I do suggest looking it up, it's very interesting!
Since your cat is green, though, you don't need to worry about the flowers. I'd say moss- works excellently for her.

    Hi, party pxison!
Feather- is a non-traditional prefix; it doesn't describe what the cat looks like, because feathers come in pretty much every colour. Check the Brown section of this prefix list from Ailuronymy and see if anything fitting catches your eye there.
-heart is a traditional suffix, but it doesn't really fit your cat; I'd recommend -whisker instead, for her hunting skills.
    I hope that helps!
