I'm also fan of Otome games (who are a bit anime related as well, I guess?).
Some really nice free ones are Fantasia: The Realm of Thanos (series - not the most amazing art, but I really enjoyed the story and the character), (P)lanets and RE: Alistair++.

Has anyone here know of HetaOni? Its a fan game based on Ao Oni for Hetalia characters.
I also enjoy some of the bleach games like The 3rd Phantom.

It is rather terrifying and there are some battles but other than that I believe the game focuses more on the characters and feelings.
