Story: Lila slipped her sparkly pink princess dress over her head and smoothed out the ruffles. She adjusted her crown and jewelery before looking in the mirror one last time. She was going to get that candy! Her fur sparkled from some spray-on glitter she found at Dollar Tree, and her makeup was on point. It was time. She descended down the stairs and wrenched open the front door, being greeted with a sea of trick-or-treaters flooding the streets. Her father manned a candy table in the driveway. "Go on, Lila! Get that candy!", her father said. Lila took a deep breath and set out onto the streets, walking for a minute or so before reaching a spookily-decorated house. She rang the doorbell. "Trick or Treat!", she exclaimed.

  "Aren't you worried your costume is just a bit too... elaborate?"
  Seattle glanced over her faux-feathered shoulder at the question. Her friend Cleo sat beside her with a look of concern etched across her clown-painted face. Seattle looked over her friend's polka-dot pantaloons and the puffy red wig that sat lopsided over her ears. Of course Cleo would think a chicken-smoothie costume - a stroke of pure genius - was too much when she was dressed as a simple clown! Seattle chuckled despite her friend's distress and went back to carefully counting her eggs. "Not in the slightest!" She barked, "I think they're going to love it!"
  
  She may have underestimated how difficult it would be to lug around a candy bucket, a blender, a smoothie cup, AND balance a carton of eggs taped to her back... but she wasn't going to let that stop her! Cleo was already a few houses down the street, but Seattle had to step carefully - she'd already lost a few of her eggs! She gingerly made it up the steps to a house decked out in Halloween decorations and breathed a sigh of relief as she finally stepped onto the porch. Then, she set all of her props down, held out her pumpkin bucket (whose face was remarkably similar to Cleo's before they left the house), knocked on the door, and cried out: "BAWK!! Trick or treat!"

Story: Vix sighed happily, finally having his costume ready. "Hey, Vix, hurry up and come outside already!" His friends could be impatient at times, especially around Halloween.
"Coming!" he called, running down the stairs and outside to his friends as fast as he could. When Vix's friends saw his costume, they all recoiled, although some more than others.
"Why'd you choose that?" one of his friends asked. "You'll scare everyone at each house we go to."
"S-sorry," VIx mumbled. Then he tilted his head. "...Isn't that the point? Everyone loves the costumes I have."
This year, he had decided to dress as a reaper, with his own spin on the costume.
The one that had spoken against Vix's costume huffed. "Whatever. Just don't follow us. We actually want treats, unlike you."
Turning away from the group, Vix started padding off, only to feel a brush at his side. He looked over and saw Luna, his closest friend.
"I think that your costume is great, Vix," she said. "Plus, you can't go trick-or-treating alone. Let's go!"
Luna sprinted forward towards the nearest house, and Vix bounded after her.
When they got there, Luna stepped back. "Ring the doorbell, Vix. You deserve it."
After a pause, Vix nodded, raised his paw, and rang the doorbell. Once they heard the door open, Vix and Luna both excitedly said, "Trick or treat!"

Lunar walked beside his friends, holding his bulky fishing rod and fake catfish. He stumbled over the mini-sized Goonch Catfish (yes, that's a real fish), almost falling onto his nose on the sidewalk.
"Lunar, man, I think you could've gone with a different fish. Maybe something a bit... more normal?" One of his friends, Kolaczki, laughed.
Lunar huffed, dropping into a play bow. "How dare you imply I would disgrace legendary angler Jeremy Wade by choosing a 'normal' fish? Do you have no respect for the almighty Goonch?"
They ran towards the next house, laughing, the only thing stopping them from a full tussle being the chance to ruin their costumes and cut trick-or-treating short. Their other friends walked ahead of their squabble.
At the sound of the doorbell ringing, Lunar and Kolaczki scrambled up, fixing each other's costumes hastily and hurrying forward to sit in front of the door.

Lena could barely contain her excitement as she looked in the mirror. This was her first ever time going trick-or-treating, and she'd spent hours thinking of a fun costume! She made quite a convincing scarecrow if she did say so herself, with all the straw, leaves, and tiny flowers adorning her wig and clothing. "Oh! Almost forgot," she exclaimed, reaching for a big, gorgeous sunflower that she added to the side of her hat. Lena had bought it from a farmer's market early that morning, knowing it would be the perfect final touch. With an excited giggle, she grabbed her candy bucket and rushed out the door, anxious to feel the crisp evening air. The street was full of life, everyone talking and laughing as they went from house to house. She saw almost every costume you could think of, from vampires to fairies to even someone dressed as a tree. All the houses were so creatively decorated that she almost couldn't decide which one she wanted to visit first! Finally, Lena picked one and rushed up the steps, adjusting her flower-covered hat before knocking on the door, "Trick or treat?"

Story: spectrum fastened their necklace on, the final touch to their steampunk costume. "it's perfect!" they had put the costume together at the last minute, but they were still glad with how it turned out. spectrum grabbed their bag, then took off into the night.

after hitting a few houses, spectrum was already happy with the haul they'd gotten so far. they headed over to the next house, taking a moment to admire the decorations. they walked up the steps to the front door, and knocked loudly. "trick or treat!"

Story:
WHERE DID I PUT IT??? Bandit worried, frantically pushing his papers across the room. Obviously, no self-respecting detective would lose his magnifying glass! His costume would be completely ruined without it! With a gasp of relief, Bandit uncovered his magnifying glass and dropped it into his trick or treating bag. "Finally! I'm ready!" Bandit cheered. With one last glance in the mirror to ensure his cap wouldn't fall off his head as soon as he bent down, he pulled on his gloves and dashed out the door. "If I'm finally going to solve the mystery of the Halloween Cryptid, I better go quick!" He murmured to himself. Mom SAID that the small orange creature wasn't real, but he was sure that it existed. He had seen it last year! But only the best detective would be able to find the truth!

As he started to wander the streets, he was a bit less confident. Maybe the 'cryptid' he had seen had just been a small kid running around, or a very realistic Halloween decoration. But then, out of the corner of his eye, Bandit spotted a small orange and white blur race towards a faraway garden. With a gasp, Bandit ran to follow it, but quickly lost sight of where it went as he arrived on the doorstep of a well-lit house. Well, I suppose the cryptid can wait for a moment... Bandit mused, eyeing his candy bag; empty but for the magnifying glass. With a smile, Bandit reached to knock on the door: "Trick or Treat!"

Kellin was more excited for Halloween than they'd surely ever been in their entire life! Not only had they been invited to a Halloween party; they had spent wheeks (They gave a small hop, popcorning with a giggle at the pun) making their dragon costume, finalizing the details just yesterday evening. So much time and effort carefully gluing the scales, sewing the spines along the tail, making sure everything looked perfect. Almost. As long as you didn't look too close, you couldn't even tell the wings were sewn on slightly crooked.
They gently pulled the wings over their back,
"That should be good! Now I just need to attach the horns, put in my fangs, and I'll really look like a dragon!"
Kellin adjusted the horns they'd affixed onto a spare headband, humming a small tune to themself as their eyes scanned the room for any last-minute additions.
"Oh, wait! Trick or Treating!"
They recalled as they looked at an old candy bucket they'd placed as a decoration that some of the houses on the way were handing out candy. May as well stop by. They were already in costume too!
Kellin snatched the purple bucket up in one paw as they scurried out the door.
"Just a few houses."
Kellin muttered to themself, words carrying a slight lisp as they spoke around the fangs in their mouth,
"I don't want to be late!"

Kellin reached their free paw to adjust their wings as they approached the house, admiring the decorations that had been set out on the lawn.
"I hope they have some good candy!"
They waited patiently behind a group of kids dressed as....
Some sort of pop group? But why were they carrying fake swords? Did it have anything to do with the one in the middle and their purple wig? They quickly came to the conclusion that they'd have to investigate later, stepping up to the door;
"Trick or wheek! I mean- Treat!"

isa cheerfully put on her halloween costume for this year, fastening her witch doctor mask before grabbing her trick-or-treating bag and rushing out the door. she had never actually been trick-or-treating, so she was super excited to finally be able to!

as she walked down the street, she said greeted her friends and gave compliments to almost everyone she saw. everyone's costumes looked so good, she couldn't help it! upon walking for a bit and going door-to-door along the street, isa stumbled upon an impressively decorated house! she walked down the sidewalk, waiting her turn behind a group of animals dressed as a... yellow mouse, an orange dragon, and a blue turtle?... she had no clue what they could be, but...

before she could think about it any longer, it was her turn! isa excitedly and hurriedly fumbled with her treat bag and held it out in front of her.
