(Just a little story, you don't have to read if you don't want too)
The moon shines brightly as you walk though the forest. You had heard rumors of weird felines resting here but you didn’t believe it, having to see for yourself. You walk deeper into the forest, the trees pressing in on you slowly. As the moonlight shines though the gaps in the leaves you eyes quickly spot something.
Deep scratch marks are gorged into the trees and their roots. You slow down, looking everywhere. Mist comes out of nowhere, slowly wrapping around your ankles and covering the floor. From behind you heard a meow. You whip around as fats as you can, but see nothing. You start to think your mind was playing tricks on you.
“You know, it’s very rude to enter our home uninvited” A deep voice whispered in your ear.
Slowly you turn around to see a large feline sitting in front of you. He was huge, his head came eye to eye with yours. His fur was midnight black and his stripes were a deep blue. He flashes a huge grin and chills run up your spine. He had two rows of teeth, complete with razor sharp fangs.
“I’m s . . . sorry, I didn’t mean to trespass” You whisper back.
The cat chuckles and stands up, now towering over you, his long flowing tail curling over his back. “I am Chesire, and to be honest, I don’t like humans” His suddenly friendly voice dropped to a snarl and he bares his fangs.
You try to back up, to get away from his monster but you were stopped as you bumped into something furry.
Slowly you turn around to see another cat. His fire red coat blazed in the moonlight, and gray stripes run across his body. Your frozen with fear as the red cat lifts his paw and pokes your chest with razor sharp claws.
“This is human is much thinner than the last Chesire” His light voice said, sending goose bumps up your spine. The cat named Chesire gave a small nod.
“I know, but we have to make do with what we have Dagger” All hope leaves you.
You know you will die here, in this forest, where your screams can never be heard. Both cats crouch, flickering their long tails. Suddenly the wind whipped though the woods, sending your hair flying away from your face.
At the same time Chesire and Dagger hiss with fury, they’re eyes locked on something glowing in the forest. Slowly the yellow speck comes closer, slowly taking the form of another of these strange felines.
“Dagger, Chesire, away from the human” Command rang though her voice. They hiss again but in the time it took you to blink, they had vanished. The new she-cats sits in front of you, a little farther back than Chesire did.
Her sky blue coat was beautiful, and her stripes glowed as yellow and as bright as the stars.
“Hello” She purred, “I am Starlight, leader of this beautiful forest” Her voice is as sweet as honey but still you are away. She laughs. “Please, don’t mind Dagger or Chesire. I am sweet, as most of us are”
You are not sure if she is telling the truth or not, so you keep quiet. She stands up quite suddenly and her tail brushes your face.
“It’s rude not to speak” Her voice became stern.
You said the first question that come to your mind. “What are you?”
She flashes a grin, revealing her fangs for a split second but not enough to scare you. “We are the unknown. We are the creation of your dreams, the makers of trouble, and the truth keepers of your heart. We are the guardians of life, and death. We are here, to protect you.” She says in a low, yet soothing voice.
“B . . . bu . . . but I don’t have one.” You said in a matter-of-fact tone.
“Not yet, you can have one. Just follow our rules and behave properly, and you can have one as soon as possible.” Her tail flickers to a tree. You look quickly to see some words scratched into the bark.
