Pixel 'art' is, to me, small art using a pixelated brush, giving it the name pixels. Really, I guess, it's any one of the very small dots that together form the picture on a television screen, computer monitor, etc.

Yay I know what pixels are in common sense, but I was interested why the art work is named after them. Thank you for the answer^^
