I don't quite understand the explanation of the necklace, could you elaborate? ^^' Edit: Oh wait, you mean like on the boots on the Simple BG example #3?
As for the background of the second one, it's going to be very simple, but I'll try my best to give it a attic-y vibe. (I now have a clearer differentiation on what does and doesn't count as a simple bg now, since it wasn't really properly specified at one point ^^')

Also, a general update, I just realized since Waterfall recently changed their image format, I have to relink some images since that caused the old links to break. :(

I wanted to practice pixel art again so I made a Pixel Canine YCH!
It only costs 2 Rares, with an added Rare for every major line edit. Minor line edits are free.
Nothing else is currently available as I'll be taking part in an art exchange event next month.

Pretty much every example on the thread is outdated at this point, I just haven't bothered to update it as I struggled with drawing motivation for a few months, so please don't mind that-
