Ooh, I never knew "鸡" could be translated as Phoenix. That's so cool xD

Are the chinese characters in traditional or simplified chinese?
I'd order if I could, but I'm lacking candy ;;

That is a good question! Let me go look at my resources ^-^
...and I can't find my hard copy books. Thus let me dig up some online resources.

After a few moments of google-fu it seems the character is simplified and can be translated into chicken. Like I mentioned on the front post, the Chinese Zodiac sometimes has different animals considering on the region and tradition. Sometimes Phoenix will be translated Chicken{Hen} or Rooster. From the books I usually use, they tend to refer to phoenix.

I'm chinese and I've never seen people call that a phoenix xD
Oh, and I think you've written the characters for rat "鼠" and rabbit "兔" wrong.

Ah ^-^ Well then you would defiantly know more about translations and character then. ^_^ I find it funny though that my book tells me it is best translated phoenix, though I am using a hen as my base design really. I wonder why the author chose that? I'm gonna dig deeper to see if I can find any reason she provided.

I probably did ^-^; I tried my very best, and will probably do a better detail on drawing the characters. They are very difficult, especially from one who has never drawn a Chinese character before. I just love to study astrology, perhaps I need to rethink drawing the characters until I make them look decent.
