This is not exactly serious, just a lil' yapping about rat linearts and possible discussion, maybe, if people wanna talk about it.
And the title's not meant to be anything bad, just a little nod to the discussion thread etiquette.

Whenever the CS artists get a little creative with the rats, there's a chance that the mention of wanting the OG lineart to be replaced surfaces, and a quick search using some special keywords ("rat lineart"), I'm already seeing some discussions that I've seen in the past. There's nothing wrong with liking or disliking old or new linearts, but I suppose I'm biased towards the original lineart, which doubles whenever I see people calling the old lineart things like "ridiculous" or "not cute"... or something along those lines.
Everyone's got differing opinions on them, and that's alright. In fact, I have a compilation of different rat linearts right here, though they seem to have begun around 2024 onward, all of which have spawned this same discussion over the old lineart:

Digging through my past forum posts involving the lineart discussions, I pulled up another post somewhat related to the previous:
I don't doubt that, but I'll be honest and say that the thought of the old lineart ever being replaced still kind of makes me a lil' nervous. I'd be thrown for a loop if the CS dogs were made more realistic or the horses given bigger eyes.
With this amount of rat linearts we have now, it makes me wonder how things would work if they all were re-used? What if they were all used in one litter, with each outcome having a different lineart? Would they only be restricted to special/event releases? Or would each month's rat artstyle be randomly chosen? Who knows. I certainly don't. It's all up to fate the CS staff. 🪄🔮
P.S. If more rat linearts ever come out, I'll prolly add them to this list. It's mildly interesting to see them all together like this.

(Edit 2) I'm really enjoying seeing more rats being posted in here. As a small note, the ones being added to my OP are ones that are like an "overhaul" of the original rat lineart, but that don't mean I'm not appreciating more rat shares.
I'm loving all of the different artstyles, and I hope the not-very-big-fans-of-rats people will enjoy this selection of rats, too.
(edit 3) I might just go ahead and make a section for the edited OG rat linearts later. MORE RAT APPRECIATION.
