"Abolishment" of the 3-month rule - What system is now used?

quick question about the 3-month rule as i stopped playing regularly shortly after the implementation of the new rarity system.

I used the 3-month rule like before the rarity change today and a lovely user pointed out to me that "(...)dont think anyone uses the three month rule anymore ever since the rarity update which tightened rarity ranges".

What does that mean - what kind of system is commonly used now to determine a fair trade?

I think the 3-month rule was surpassed by the 1-year rule.
which means every pet with the same rarity is worth the same within their year of release
(e.g. a may 2024 common is worth the same as a november 2024 common)
