The Staff Dogs have always been one of my favorite things on CS. Ever since I joined when I was a kid I've tried to collect them all, and I actually got pretty far! I've completed most of the sets. I came back to the site recently after years away and was like dang, kid me was putting in the WORK lol. Anyway I'd love to see what everyone's favorite from every year's set is! Here are mine:
2009 - Shima.Luan
Of course, the queen herself. I remember this dog being
my absolute top priority dreamie for a long time. After
many failed trade attempts, I finally got mine in 2012.
I'm sure she's most people's favorite from 2009.
2010 - Moonflight
Not one of the flashiest of this litter, I know. But
I have always been fond of this design.I think it's
the spiky ears that do it for me.
2011 - Yulynh
Idk man. I just think she's fun and I like her
vibe. 10/10 def punk rock.
2012 - Ricorn
The pose, the expression, the floof. I want
to hug her. I think she is definitely in the
running for cutest hair on CS.
2013 - Bernouli / Yulynh
The simplicity of the solid black coat on Bernouli's
dog just makes this design so soft and the leaf on its
head is too cute. It always makes me think of green
tea, which I love lol. The use of a solid coat makes
this design stand out from its peers. And Yulynh with
the cute punk dog again! Just like 2011's. I love these
dogs of theirs so much. I really couldn't pick between
these two, and I do just love green so much. We need
more green staff dog palettes!
2014 - sketchi
Beans.
2015 - Atwood
Although I really don't like this year's color palette
(it's tricky to make orange and blue work well together
imo) I think Atwood really pulled it off somehow. I think
the feathers look absolutely gorgeous and the way that
they blended the blue and orange into that cream color
made it look really natural and complimentary. Big fan
of floofy feathers in general, too.
2016 - sketchi
I just think he's a very handsome boi is all.
There's something about this color palette
that I find comforting/nostalgic somehow
and I can't quite place what it is exactly. It
reminds me of walking in the woods, and also
of apple pie. I really love these colors together
though I know some others didn't care for this
combo. Also, this dog's tail looks just like
asparagus and I love that for him.
2017 - Simon
She's just so delicate and cute looking <3
Forest fairy baby.
2018 - Solloby
It was almost cloud dog... Almost. I'm just
a sucker for anything big cat. This year was
probably my favorite color scheme.
2019 - Raire
Honestly this was probably my least favorite
staff litter. I didn't care much for this palette,
and as a whole I think it pales in comparison
to most years. However I really like the pixel style
of this dog, it's very fun and I also really like Raire's
designs for the next two years which have the same
style. I hope they continue this trend for this year!
2020 - Vampiric
I absolutely adore anything that looks like a
pretty night sky, and I think this idea really
used this year's palette to it fullest potential.
I grew up with a very whimsigoth-y mom and
I think that adds a layer of nostalgia to this
aesthetic for me. Pretty sure we had a blanket
that looked just like this!
2021 - reynard
This year was really hard to choose a favorite
from. I might have lied about 2018's color
scheme being my favorite because this one
is really gorgeous too. Anyway I love the pattern
on this guy.
2022 - Koikee
I am such a sucker for leopard spots it isn't even funny,
and the way Koikee did these ones using these shades
of purple is so gorgeous and reminds me of Lisa Frank
a little. Making the flowers and herbs blue is a really
nice touch too. There's something so soothing about this
dog, like they'd make me the best cup of lavender tea
when I'm sick.
2023 - hellevi
I've had a really rough 2023, and for several months I
didn't have the energy to be active on CS. I forgot all
about the staff litter, and if I had remembered I surely
would have made the effort to get back into my account
a month sooner, and it especially stings because I missed
out on possibly my new favorite color scheme of the staff
litters. Pink and green are my favorite colors, and yellow is
up there too. This dog is by far my favorite of the litter, like
it wasn't even a question. I will ALWAYS have a soft spot
for this early 2000s emo look, it was what I aspired to be
back then hahaha. Everything about this dog's design put me
right back in my early days on CS, deviantart, and other
similar sites I can't remember the names of. This dog is
just everything. Love her <3
