How Do You Organize Your Pets?

I was just curious to see how other users do their pet groups.
Do you do them all by year?
What about only by species?

eg:

Mine are pretty simple because I only keep pets I like.

I have my favorite groups, then litter groups, then single pet groups, then my hoards.

I separate them by dogs/non-dogs.

That's about it.

Part of the reason for this is that I don't like to have a lot of groups. Another reasons is that I realized that I want to appreciate every pet, and not the ones I like based on my first impressions. I used to have a bunch, e.g. groups by species or separate groups for my favorite pets. But then I'd only visit my favorite species or the groups with my favorite pets. There are a lot of pets which I don't like initially, but start to grow on me after revisiting them.

Of course, it also makes sorting so much easier, and I've gotten lazier over the years.

About me, in the past few months, I basically kept changing my pets' organization ^^ Although, for now, I'm happy for how it's organized! My folders are:

*events* (of course pets are separated into each event folder)
*months* (same regarding each month)
*green babies* (because green it's my favourite color and I love green pets!)
*royals and warriors* (mostly stuff pets)
*let's wait and see* (nursery)
*doubles month*
*for trading*
*unknown rarities* (I feel a bit hesitant to trade pets withourt rarity ^^")
*TD swaps*

Here you are basically all my folders :3 when I first started collecting animals in CS, I just organized them by species, but I wanted to be more organized, with different species together so here it is!

I always get so much anxiety doing too many groups, so I just narrowed it down to
-each species (omgsc-uncommon , and any rarity)
-rares+ group
~ then the locked groups
-gifts
-dress ups, or NFT pets
-hoard pets

When i joined i had them organized by species, but after a while they had become very confusing and overfilled. Then i started to throw all my pets in the ungrouped folder. When i made a plan i divided the event pets from the monthly litters and sorted them after year and month/event. I think my explanation is maybe a little confusing, so i recommend you to go see it by yourself. Im not really satisfied with my hoards and other stuff but whatever.

I group like this:

* Event. One "nursery" group + one trade group. Only in use when there's an event going on.
* Nursery. One for 1st stage and one for 2nd stage pets and finally one for fully-grown pets.
* Trade. Split up by rarity and for uncommons and rares also by year. Also including an unknown rarity for current month's pets.
* My collection. Split up by species and for the regular monthlies also by year. So it goes *All the non-regular pets has their own one group* and then *2008 regulars*, *2009 regulars* etc. And I also include stuff like fennec foxes, hamsters and deer in the non-regular groups because even though they are released every now and then as monthly releases, they aren't regular enough to get a new group each year.
* My second collection of dogs. Split up by year.

It is a lot of groups doing it this way, but I just don't like NOT doing it this way. Just sorting by species is just not sorted enough and because I sell pets for C$, I have to split my trade groups up a lot.

I'm am currently in a major reorganization because this is my second day on since about three years ago. My goal is a complete collection so I organize it the same way as the archives. Months and events. Then when I have all the months for a year I will combine them as 2015 monthly pets for example.

Then I also have trade folders by year...I will probably be changing this soon too though
