Welcome to the "What item is this" thread
Since we now have the Lost and Found and can adopt items, I've been seeing a lot of people wondering what year their new item was from. I though it would be a good idea to have a separate thread for asking about item release dates. There's a lot of items on Chicken Smoothie and some of them can be hard to find in the archives. Knowing when your item was released could also give you a start on what your item could possibly be worth.
Please feel free to help others. Not only is giving a date when the item was released is helpful, but it's also great to give other information. Things to keep in mind would be how long the was available and how it was obtained.
- Lucky dip:A lucky dip item is an item obtained from a pack in which the items are randomized.
- Free item: A "free" item is an item that didn't have a "cost", meaning that tokens, or C$ were not spent to obtain it. Most items are "free" items.
Item Sets:Some items a part of a set and some people may be interested in collecting a whole set. Some sets may have multiple copies of items. - Free store items:Free store items are items that can be found in the C$ store that are free to adopt. There have been some free store items that are no longer available in the store, but most still are.
- C$ Store items: Most of the items in the C$ store are for purchase. As with the free store items, some of the C$ store items are no longer available for purchase.
- Token items:Token items are items that are purchased with tokens during events. Only the Easter, summer vacation, and Halloween events have token items.
- Banner items and tokens: Banner items are items that are found from banners from the Easter, summer vacation, and Halloween events. Those same banners also give tokens that can be turned in for other items or pets. It is completely random whether someone will get a token, or a banner item from a banner.
There are very few items that will fall outside these categorize. Often these items aren't listed in the archives.
- Semi-Custom items:A semi-custom item is the name given to some very rare items that were obtained by special means. These items exist in very few quantities and include the Chicken-o's hat (both light and dark), Chicken-o's shirt, Chicken-o's flag, Vampiric Birthday Hat, and Rainbow Smoothie.
- Borked, glitched, or alternate coded items: These terms refer to two specific items, the spring headband and gold lolita wig. These two items in their image file forms can still be found in the C$ store. Early versions of these items had different image files. The old one still remain and do not stack with their current store counterparts.
