The pound runs out of pets in 10 months????

On 6/29/17 there were 1,870,234 pets in the pound.
Today there are 1,058,269
In 8 months the pound has SHRANK over 800,000 pets!
That's 100,000 pets per month.
So will the pound be empty in 10 months?
Will CS do a massive clean up of old abandoned accounts?

Tess has said that staff will not take inactive accounts' pets.However,people get banned everyday,I don'tt think that the pound will ever run out of pets.

People who break the rules and get banned or donate there pets to the pound because they quit makes it last for almost ever

I doubt it'd be completely out in ten months seeing as people keep donating their pets or getting banned and having their pets be sent to the pound but I guess so, yeah

No, it would take much longer for that, and I'm sure as the numbers dwindle they would also allow less and less pets out each time, or do them less often, not to mention the intake of pets through donations and more

We've been running the pound at hyper speed to try and reduce the stockpile for a long time now, it was never the goal to have it holding millions of pets (we want them to have homes). We will slow it down as it gets lower so we can keep having a regular pound opening, but hopefully never build up to those crazy numbers again. The pound has a hoarding problem

when you say 'slow down' do you mean you will add less pets to the pound when it does open (but keep it opening regularly like now), or do you mean you will open it less than on average 3 times a day? :>

I'm curious where most of the pets are coming from. Users banned for cheating? Donations? About the same amount from both?

Or we could the 99k pound challenge. I remember that from last year, will it happen again ?

As the Pound gets emptier we will have smaller, less frequent openings. So there might be less pets in the adoption group, and maybe it won't open as many times in a day. If we gave all the pets away then the Pound wouldn't be able to open at all, so it's better to have it be slow than nothing at all right? I'm not sure if we'll have another 99K Pound event, it empties the Pound pretty rapidly doing that.

I don't know the exact stats on where all the pets come from, but a lot of them are donated. The rarer/older pets tend to be from banned players, some of the newer pets are just peoples' spares that they're clearing out. We do have more pets waiting to be placed in there as there are some banned accounts still holding pets.
