ADVENT CALENDAR 2012
With winter comes the advent calendar and festive spirit fills the air. This is one of the most exciting times on CS and gives us an opportunity to celebrate the holidays together.
But what can you expect from this event? Is there something you need to know? Want to talk about what's going on?
This is the place to ask these questions. There will be a list of frequently asked questions placed at the bottom of the thread, so please check if your question is there before asking.

NO TRADE TALK.
Do not post asking for trades, offering trades, or discussing trades - the trade board is for that. This also includes hinting for trades, e.g. "I need to find someone to trade for this outcome", "No one is accepting my trades for this pet I missed", or "Got two of these, missed this one - off to the swaps thread!".
NO SPAM.
This includes countdowns, double posting, arguments, asking for trades, ranting about anything, or anything else that doesn't contribute to the discussion of the monthly pets.
BE RESPECTFUL.
Remember, everyone is to be treated with respect, including the CS artists and other people in the discussion thread, even if you disagree with their opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and not everyone will like a particular pet/colour/theme/etc.. This is fine, so long as it's expressed respectfully.
See a problem? REPORT, don't REPLY!
If you think someone has been rude or is spamming, please REPORT it rather than replying to it or getting defensive. Arguments only create spam and hard feelings, and they are not appreciated by the staff (including the 'just be glad we get free pets!' arguments). Also, don't get involved in someone else's argument. If you see people arguing, REPORT, don't reply. Getting involved just makes you part of the problem. Posts that are simply carrying on an argument will likely be deleted as spam.
I will remake the thread if and when it reaches 900 pages. Anything less is not necessary.

Polite criticism examples wrote:The colours clash and are too bright for my taste. The wing position looks kind of awkward. The design is too busy for me - I prefer simpler designs. Not a fan of jewelry on pets. Not my cup of tea. This pet's theme creeps me out. I don't much care for the rat lineart.

Questions and Answers
What IS the advent calendar?
- Every year CS hosts an advent calendar. Each day you will be able to adopt new pets or items until Christmas to celebrate the holiday season.
- There will be a big banner on the main page advertising it, but you can also access it by clicking
- It's Christmas. The layout change is not permanent, you can go change it back to the standard green if you like. Click here and change your 'Board Style' to change it.
- Unfortunately most of the items/pets are only available for one day. You will either have to trade for them or wait to see if they are released again.
- Usually there are many different outcomes during the advent calendar, but do not fret! There will be a swap thread located here. As well, sometimes boxes with certain pets or items will be released multiple times. Usually the item will say so.
- The artists have all put a lot of work into the advent calendar, and since we will be getting so many new pets and items, there are fewer monthly pets.
- Last year, not only did we celebrate Christmas, but Hannukah and Kwanzaa as well. CS tries to recognize all holidays, not only Christmas.
- On December 18th you will have the opportunity to adopt two pets that are very special. They are usually older pets, perhaps VR '08s or '09s. You also have a chance to adopt a UR, or un-released pet, and this is when new URs pop up. For more information on this please click here.
- Usually the advent calendar ends on December 25th [Christmas] but we won't know until Tess announces it.
- This thread shows all monthly outcomes as well as advent outcomes but I will also be keeping the second post updated with each day's presents as well.
