Hoard Discussions Thread v.7!

i never really thought i’d consider my self a hoarder in any way but here we are i guess… a few days ago i started collecting constellation dogs from feb ‘19; if you wanna check it out click the dog, it’s small rn but a lot of them are dressed up :)

it initially started because i’ve gotten really into items and dress ups lately, and the thing about items is that they’re mostly made for dogs without lineart edits, and i don’t really have many of those that i enjoy enough to dress up. i was trading one day i remembered that these dogs existed and i was like wait.. these are perfect for dress ups… they have no line line edits, a cute design, neutral colors that go with everything, and they’re relatively easy to get. so i decided to get as many as i could just so i could make endless dress ups lol

aww omg these are so cute! i also have a hoard with - [attempted] dressups and they're so fun !! it does make me sad though that most item dress-ups are for dogs w/ limited to no line edits :')

I have finally hit Over 1,000 Super Blue Blood Moon 2nd Gen Dogs Litter. I love this litter so much. I suppose it's time to retire collecting them. xD

Also, I'm happy to say that I've collected a dog for each day of February when they were released. <3

I've collected very few of these buns since they were released at Easter so I hope that them going omg so common will mean I can get more! Thankfully none of the buns in the hoard went rare, but they probably would if I ever went inactive, lol.

Woo, many of my ongoing hoards got an upgrade (one with a downgrade)! I personally don't think they'll be harder or easier to obtain, but hey, who knows!

I'm not a big hoard person, but I do have a hoard for my IRL kitty, a lil calico (she's so tiny) named Cricket (she likes to chirp). She's so, so special to me.

I'm hovering around 700 calicos now - wow. Ahhh. I'm so happy!

I've sorta decided not to hoard the very rare+ calico kitties, but I have collected them all and it was cool to see two of them, my hoard mascots, go extremely rare as I don't have that many extremely rare pets (maybe 20-30 or something - which for some people is a lot! But I just tend to trade up rather than down and so have traded many of mine away). I'm feeling grateful to have them both in my collection before they turned ER.

i've been hoarding this entire litter from christmas 2013 since it was released, but i finished it up this may. it was meant to be dedicated to my childhood cat sabrina, who passed in 2014. recently a few of its members were upgraded to eu and rare so i'm glad i finished it before that happened!

cleaning up bottles | 41 pets | completed (for now)

this was my most difficult hoard to go back and complete but it's so satisfying to look at! i collected all the new years dogs and pps dogs, which got difficult when i had to go retroactively get pets from before i joined in 2013! i totally overpaid for the 2010 adult new years dog but it was so worth it! cs finished the whole color gradient so this year, they changed it up so that the 2023 pps is a cat, so i think i'll continue to hoard them together!

i just started this hoard of the easter 2023 dwarf hamsters today! i wanted something super easy to trade for and since this litter was huge and all the variants are omgsc/ec, i figured this would be a good one. my goal is 1000 since i've never hoarded that many pets before! i already have over 50, so i'm well on my way :) i still need to come up with a better name though! definitely taking suggestions.

this hoard only includes three of the variants of this january 2021 litter since their other littermate is very uncommon and doesn't match as seamlessly as these guys. i think they're so beautiful!

these are from valentines day 2019 & every pet in this hoard is named after a word of taylor swift's song, "the lakes." the name comes form the lyric "a red rose grew up out of ice frozen ground," hence the roses. i just realized today that i miscounted and that i'm actually missing a pet, so unfortunately i had to consolidate by doing this...

Pet's name: without you.
i'll have to go back and try to trade for another one with an early adoption time so that i don't have to go back and change every. pet's. name.

this one is just a fun one because i loved the bi pride 2021 valentines day deer! the title is also from a taylor swift song, "dorothea," because in my mind it's a sapphic anthem.

watch wisteria grow | 205 + 55 pets | completed, but still collecting

all of these november 2020 cats are named after a song in taylor swift's discography. i update the group every time taylor releases something new. i like to keep extra pets from this litter on hand because taylor just pumps out so much music and it's fun to pick these kitties up here and there.

I've never been able to do a RL-pet based hoard. I joined nearly two generations of cats ago and while I admire those that do tribute collections, I think it would be too painful for me to constantly see pet(s) that I've explicitly connected as representing one of my old girls that have passed. :'<



In other news, just hit 50 in my Proud To Be group! Unfortunately, the chicken counterpart (they and the horses used to be a 10:10 one-page group together) went Very Uncommon with the rarity overhaul and I'd already been stuck at 12/20 for months even before that when they were still commons... oof.

(also i just realized I'm missing an aro and agender flag for these two because they all went into my Pride Anthem rats whoops)
