Rerelease BMD is a sorb, while a TD BMD tends to easily get more than a sorb, but it's not quite worth a non.
I would say no, a BMD swap for a nonjewel is unfair.

A 2017 store pet is worth a late 2009 rare, a 2014 store pet is worth 2 2009 rares, this would be a fair trade!

    2010 x3 = 22-40 c$ ea. = ~66-120 c$
    2011 x2 = 18-22 c$ ea. = ~36-44 c$
    2013 = 12-15 c$
    2014 x4 = 10-12 c$ ea. = ~40-48c$
    2015 = 8-10 c$
    2016 x2 = 6-8 c$ ea. = ~12-16c$
    2017 x3 = 4-6 c$ ea. = ~12-15 c$
    2018 x4 = 3-5 c$ ea. = ~12-20 c$
    2018 store x2 = 30-35c$ ea. = ~60-70 c$
    2019 x2 = 2-4c$ ea. = 4-8 c$

    they're overpaying.
    going by the lower values, your c$ makes up for every pet but the 2018 stores & 2019 rares.
