I'm thinking carrot, because root veggie (since the newborns have bulbs on them, so grown underground) but it could be simpler and just a lovely orange tulip!

The simplest round orange thing I can think of is an orange, but that doesn't work with the bulb design XD

Haha I hadn’t really thought of it as like a “bulb” when I was designing them but now that you point it out it does certainly look like one!
I was going more for seed/plants/growing when I designed the newborn (:

Well, even if it's just incidental, it's very cute as a design element! Whatever the little guys sprout into, I will be more than delighted to have them This first one's just the perfect orange hue!

As for today's growths...

Loooooving the earthy tones on these ponies! Though I got five, so I wonder if this is normal (and we're looking at a split) or I'm off to a rough start..?

Hoping those foxes will be good themed looks it.
The babies look like the face have a reddish or some sort of root plant growing on its face, so let's hope its something like that!

I really like tourmaline, but am I the only one super sad it's not opal?

I was hoping for opal myself, but opal is really difficult to use as a gemstone for jewelry because of how soft and easily damaged it is; it's not a crystalline solid like diamond/sapphire/etc, so it can't be cut like one. (Opal jewelry is mainly cabochons, which are shaped and polished as opposed to faceted and often affixed to a sturdier, dark-colored backing.) Given the cut and faceted bonus gems that come with the full set every month, and given that we've already seen a soft birthstone replaced by a crystalline alternative (June's is usually pearl, but the June set is alexandrite), it makes sense we'd get a crystal for this set too.

Looking ahead, all of the above implies December's set may be tanzanite instead of turquoise.

I’m pretty sure the gem for December will be blue topaz! So far, the gem sets have aligned with the April 2020 Gem foxes, so if the trend continues, the December gemstone set should be blue topaz!

luxlustravi got it. I wanted the sets to be consistent, so I avoided opal and pearl.
I also did not consider the fox litter when I made the jewellery sets. The December stone is a secret.
