These results are very interesting, thank you so much for doing this! It's always good to see how others value things to make trading easier for everyone <3
The data pretty much backs up how I feel about the uncommon - rare trade ups. Rare is rare, and two uncommons of the same year are easier to get than a rare. I personally use 1:4 with these kind of things, so I find 4 uncommons worth the same as a rare of the same year. But with years 2:1 is fair if the age gap is 4 or less years, so also 2 2011 uncommons would be fair for a 2012 rare in my opinion.
I mainly use these rules, bur with bigger age gaps there is just no rule that feels fair, since I just don't think a 2010 rare is worth hundreds of new rares. After all rarites are updated monthly, so an old uncommon is still an uncommon and therefore not as hard to get as a new rare. So going too high with the age gaps is just ridiculous. It's easier to count the pet values by c$ in those situations, like if a 2009 uncommon can be found with 15c$ (and they often can) then it can't be worth hundreds times of 22 uncommons found with 2c$ or so. So maybe I'd do 10-15 of the younger ones for the old uncommon, depending on the demand of species (like malks go higher etc)
If the other person is offering wl is also important for me in trading, if they do I'm willing to go bit higher with the 2:1 rules and all. For non-wl stuff I'm not going to overpay even that slightly, so with those trades I'm relying on the math even more and think them though with all the points listed above
