Discussion about the Pets, Items, Dress-ups, Events, Site, Forum or other CS features!

i definitely remember the first day i joined, back in 2014 (i used to break the multi account rule, lol i was young and stupid), and cs just felt so fun. i loved watching my pets grow and would eagerly check them every day to see if any of them grew. now it just feels like i adopt on the 1st, check in on the last day of the month, repeat. i think the reason this game has become more of a process than, you know, a *game* is just because a lot of the user base has grown up. i don't feel as excited seeing a little gray cat because i'm just, y'know, not a little kid anymore. i've seen it a lot where users join with the intent to collect pets, but inevitably gravitate more towards the forums, art, roleplay, etc etc.
moving on though, i think another aspect of this game feeling repetitive is that there have been so few quality of life updates that a lot of features feel inconvenient at best.
some examples: items dont move to the top of your wishlist when you receive them like pets do, there's no custom site skins/there's a lack of default site skins, no "adopt all" button for monthly adopts, etc etc. im sure staff has heard the same things hundreds of times.
anyways, to recap, i think the reason cs has lost its spark is just because most users have gotten older and theres not been many updates to keep the game fresh.

It's ludicrous that this site doesn't even have a simple "add all pets/items you don't own to wishlist" option. There are thousands of pets and items and we have to add them all to the WLs...one by one? What if someone new actually does want to seriously collect everything?
I also agree that should be an option, and many people have wanted it for a while but unfortunately we're not at that point yet. It is time-consuming going through the archives for WL, and I dread it sometimes
I did find a workaround for this to make it a lot faster, it only works on desktop, but you can click "Add to wishlist" on the first pet on a page and then repeatedly hit tab and enter to quickly add all the pets on the page (skipping over links like artist name, and skipping over pets you've already gotten). Then you do the same thing for the next page of pets. I've found that to take a lot less time than clicking especially when you get used to it. I don't think they'll be implementing an "add all" feature anytime soon since they've said it puts a lot of strain on the server.

I remember my first few months on cs. I was playing during the list 2011 store pets, I remember I begged my parents for some cs to buy the sets :) It was a really harsh community even then, but '09 and '10 people had established a hierarchy and 2011 players were the lowest of the low. No one wanted to trade down for their 2009 or 2010 pets really. I was scared to send trades because I was coppa and people didn't really understand what that meant at the time. They were offended that a trade message couldn't be sent. I wasn't smart with monthlies, I thought I only needed one of each monthly pet and I wanted to save some pets for other people (again had no idea how it worked), and because of that mentality I've had to catch up on so many missed pets. I wasn't smart about the pound, and no one was really willing to explain how demand or stuff worked, so if anything while the demand of pets has kind of went off the charts in a really crazy way, at least we have people now on this site that are always willing to explain and help new people out. I've met a lot of genuine people on this site over the years so while it can seem like a big bad world especially for someone starting fresh or just starting out, its not as scary if you find people willing to mentor you and show you the ropes so to speak. Taking a break from cs for a few years was also hard, so I can't imagine someone coming back after 6 or so years and going "what happened to the site??" Four years was enough time to miss a lot of really sought after pets, pets that everyone seems to want to hoard so I respect everyone that takes a shot in the dark and tries to expand their cs collection :)

Omg yes, we need more summer events having games, it makes things so much more fun! Even simple games can change the event completely.
I'd also love to see community goals like "when the community collects X amount of tokens a new area or special item will be unlocked" or "when the community reaches x amount of token trade ins everyone wins a special item", it would definitely make the events more exciting and less... lonely?
I always felt like there is a lot of interaction missing during all events, we just do the whole thing by ourselves, it doesn't feel like we're in a site with other users. The only moment that we kind of do something together is when there is that "quest" where the players can get together to do the thing by pushing the button and their usernames come up with some random funny action. That's really cool, but I'd love to see more ways of bringing the community together during the rest of the event!

i don't think that cs is getting more boring, we're just getting more used to it, if that makes sense. i haven't even been on cs for that long but it seems to me that once the forums and all that are no longer fun to you, you start collecting pets and trading more (at least, that's what i think many people do.personally i did the opposite), therefore making trading, worth and demand more and more complicated. i'm sure that new cs users find it just as exciting as we used to when we had first-joined. some people have also talked about how cs may sometimes be repetitive and how it doesn't often have any big updates. in my view, that is not the case. to me, cs has always been more about the community and forums, so there shouldn't even be a need for any big updates in the first place.
I love opeth! dm me and we can chat about opeth
I also love septicflesh and hypocrisy and gus g. I just rlly love metal music

I think I finally figured out why after 10 years I'm starting to lose the CS spark: it's all become somewhat stagnant. Yes, the designs are still gorgeous and I have fun at the events but... the line arts. While they look lovely they never really change apart from minor edits. And it's become a little boring after all this time. So... yeah.

Idk i've been here nearly 9 years and ill probably be here till cs shuts down. It was never that big of a deal to me, when i felt less interested in cs i just did something else, and when I wanted to i came back, simple really. Interest comes and goes in regards to different things, such is life. I don't really have a commentary about the greater nature of cs and why people might feel like its stagnating, its always been the same to me and i like it.

I remember that. That was a strange time since I don't think such a gap has existed since then.
Was it because we couldn't trade for C$ directly?
Was there some kind of ban on offside trading?

I took a break from CS for almost a whole year, when I came back the List was gone, and trading has gotten so hard ever since, and 90% of the people I try to trade with "Still use the list" so I've given up on trading other than for monthly missed outcomes because its just too hard to get a complete collection these day.
I can say my spark is fading, but I also hold so much fondness for CS so I always find my way back even if I take a break or say im quitting lol

Sheesh, RIGHT. I joined at the tail end of ‘11 and it was impossible.
