i brushed my wavy blonde and dark brown hair out of my eyes with my lips drawn down in a frown as i sat infront of my crush, then felt a pencil prodding in my back as the reading teacher spoke.
'not now idiot, we will get in trouble! '
i rumbled to my best friend as he sat the pencil down and tapped my shoulder.
'how about in activity?'
he stopped, then my teacher sat backing the desk, and i felt hands running through my hair from the left and my lips drawn into a smile.
'what are you doing now? '
i whispered to Sylvester, sitting beside Joseph.

he sat silent so I shrugged it off and brushed my pencil onto my lips and ighed softly, then stared at the clock.
1:30
I shook my head then the desk made a pillow for my head while i closed my eyes, waiting for reading to end, so I could talk to him .it would be at the end of the day, since lunch was next, unless she could sit with him and her friends without her best friend Cameron wouldn't tease her.
The bell rung, cringing for the class to leave, and soon as i got up, i felt him beside me, turning my head rapidly in surprise, seeing his face close to mine, i jerked away and sped walked outside of the class room.
down inside the lunch room, i had a piece of broccoli on my fork and swung it around, then my friend jarred and gracie hit it, and sure enough it landed on his nose and he went hysterical.
'jarred, i dare you to lick the cheese off his nose then eat the broccoli! '
Kayla dared then smirked
'probably won't do it.. '
my second grade stalker growled, then the bell rung again and I sighed.
guess I can't ask him now...

The first days of the war are gone.

The news that the bombs were about to be dropped had sent Frank Graves skittering away from the city as fast as he could, which was at about twenty miles an hour. The world's oil reserves had run out something like a hundred years past, which meant that petroleum vehicles had become completely obsolete. Bicycles were easier to deal with than solar cars, considering that the sun could only be seen through the smog one or two days out of ten.

Frank didn't like the look of this... Harry. He was an inch taller than the policeman and much stronger looking. He was also wearing a jersey that displayed the name and number of one of the frackball teams. Frank did not approve of frackball, mainly because all the athletes did was beat each other up and try to put a ball the size of a grapemelon* into a basket that lay in the middle of an obstacle course.

His sister picked up the small boy, who looked to be about five, in order to give him a hug. Then she set him back down and he stood with his hands behind his back, looking up. His eyes were wide and blue; his sister's eyes, Frank saw.

Frank watched as the man took the boy's hand and led him into another room. He assumed it was the kitchen, judging by the tiles on the floor. This was before Cassandra took him by the shoulder, pushing him into an overstuffed chair that sat by a table with a radio on it. She sat on the couch opposite and leaned against the arm of it, looking him over.

I know the fight is on the way
when the sides have been chosen.

"So, you heard the news?"
"Yeah."
"I can't believe the war's finally going to be over, can you?"
"No."
"What's wrong?"

Frank looked up at his sister, face solemn, and he saw in her eyes that she knew full well what was wrong. Neither of them mentioned it, though; Charles had been gone too long for him to still be alive, off wherever it was that the armies were sent to. And even if he had survived the fighting, he'd be killed by the bombs as they fell tonight. Either right away, by the blast, or slowly through radiation poisoning.

"Well, whoever's still alive, they'll be coming home."
"Maybe."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I just... I have a bad feeling."

"This. All of this. The war won't ever really be over. It'll just move somewhere else. Maybe here."
