Darkness, it is my companion and my only friend. It is my heart and companion, have been since I was born. I remembered my pack being attacked and the smell of blood.
The enemy pack had broken in and killed everyone. I remember hearing the snarling and fighting. I hid in a corner, trembling with fear. I was the only pup in the pack and I could hear the leaves rustle as another wolf entered. He snarled and his scent was so disgusting. He spotted me and walked right up to me.
“Prepare to die” He snarled, the wind blowing fiercely with his words, chilling my fur.
“Please, leave me alone” I whimpered.
He chuckled darkly and I could hear his lips brush his fangs as he revealed his fangs. Tears formed in my eyes and fear washed over me.
“I said leave me alone!” I screamed in fear and there was a heat in my heart. I felt it and it comforted me. But it was growing, burning me from the inside. The smell of ashes reached my nose. It kept getting warmer, hurting me. I whimpered in pain and out of instinct I mentally threw that warm fire away from me. Heat surrounded me and I could feel the fire leaving me.
The sound of fire burning the enemy wolf’s fur reached my nose. He yelped in pain and raced away, the sound of burning fur following him and I could taste the smoke. It all happened so fast, I didn’t know what to do. I was stunned and shocked. But another wolf entered.
“Easy little Fire Flower, I am a friend” I trusted him, what a fool I was. He took me by my scruff and raised me. I soon learned his name was Knoork, which meant Water. He told me the truth.
Every thousand years there are a paw full of wolves born, which the power of a element. The one who tried to kill me as a pup as one of them, he controlled Air. Knoork controlled Water, and I was born to control Fire. He taught me how to use my power and to be careful of it. Sometimes fire was hard to control.
I was 4 winter’s old when I realized I was not getting older. I was full grown with a beautiful coat and in shape, but I was not getting old like Knoork. Timidly I asked him why.
“It’s because I am over a thousands years old, my time is ending. Element wolves are born to live to about a thousand, so we may find the newborn element wolves and train them. We start to age then. I have trained you and now I can age. I shall join the stars soon”
Tears formed in my blind eyes. “Please don’t leave me” I felt his muzzle as he brushed it against mine.
“Oh don’t cry my little Fire Flower. I will always be with you” His paw touched my chest “In your heart. Don’t forget me”
“I would never” I licked his cheek.
It snowed that night and Knoork died that night, joining the stars. He was my adopted father and I would always love him. He broke my heart by leaving me as slowly I separated from the pack. None loved me like Knoork, they feared me and my powers.
I now live on my own, alone in a part of the forest. I need no one’s help and have never asked for it. I could hunt and fight as well as anyone. I learned to pin point the sound of the beating hearts and learned how to aim for it.
The wind whispers advise in my ears and the sun and moon guides me. But one wolf changed my life dramatically.
I was hunting, slowly pulling forward, her ears pricked as I listened to the sound of the elk’s lapping tongues. I was in the shade, I knew cause it was cold, the sunlight would feel warm upon my coat. I slowly placed my feet in front of each other, slinking closer. A soft breeze blew across the forest, sending the smell of the stream my way. Now was my choice.
I leaped forward, racing low to the ground. The scent of elk quickly got stronger until I was for sure it would suffocate me. I flashed my teeth out, biting into the skin. The herd scattered quickly, running from me. I gave chase, their scent leaving a clear trail on the ground. I followed the one with the scent of blood, the one I attacked.
She tried to do sharp turns and shake me off but I followed easily. But I could not race for long and no matter how fast I went, the elk seem faster. Quickly I drew deep inside myself, searching for the small spark that was always in my soul. I gripped it, sharing my emotions and thoughts. I could feel that spark feeding off of them, slowly growing bigger. It didn’t my help no more, it blazed inside me freely. I snarled in concentration and thrust it in the direction of the elk's scent.
I could feel it burning the poor creature, not attacking it physically but attacking it’s soul. Slowly my energy drained, my fire using it for it’s need. The elk collapsed out of nowhere, my fire doing it’s work.
I never thought of the fire as me, but as a different thing, a thing living inside me. I could feel it shrink, becoming only a spark again, resting. It would be a while before I could use it again, it needed rest like a living thing.
I lopped over to the elk and slowly ate it, feeling strength flow though me with every bite. After I had my fill I sat upon my haunches and slowly sniffed the air, trying to figure out where I was.
The wind was fresh and moved freely, ruffling my fur. The smell of earth and dirt were strong. I was by the plains. My ears flickered nervously. The plains were not safe for me, unlike the forest. The plains dropped quite suddenly and made many cliffs, cliffs that I could not scent. I whimpered in fear, my ears going back. There was a snort then.
I whipped my head in the sound of the direction, my hackles rising. I could hear hooves stomping on the pebbles. He snorted again and gave a loud call. From the call I could tell it was an elk, the leader male, and he was pissed. I snarled, baring my fangs, opening them a bit so my tongue can curl. The male elk pawed the ground menacing and gave a warning charge, stopping a few yards from me. Only too well could I imagine the huge antlers on top of his head, pointed towards my chest. I could have easily have killed him using my gift, but it needs rest and if I was to use it now, while it was weak, I would surely die.
I slowly got up and slowly backed away, my tail straight behind me. I was still snarling, showing my fangs, trying to scare him off. The buck reared up, pawing the air, calling a challenge. He really wanted to fight. My snarl got louder and deeper and I leaped forward in a short charge, trying to scare him off, I only wanted him to leave me alone. But I did the wrong move.
He snorted and charged me, taking my challenge. Fear washed over me. I couldn’t fight him. I couldn’t see his antlers and those were his weapons. I did the only thing I could. I whirled around and raced away, racing with all my might.
The buck kept coming, chasing me. I turned left and right, trying to find my forest, where I belong and where knew my surroundings. But no matter how far I ran or how many turns I made, I couldn’t find the familiar trees. I getting tired, my paws cutting open from the sharp rocks. But the buck still chased me and now he was gaining. I could feel his deep breath on my back. I snarled in fear and whipped around without warning, my teeth sinking into his chest.
He stopped suddenly and whipped his body to the left, tossing me off. I considered running again but I knew I couldn’t run forever. The buck pranced back an forth, spearing the air with his antlers. I would stand right now, to fight and live, and let fate plays it’s cruel ways. I threw my head back and howled, letting the buck know I was going to fight back.
He charged forward without warning and I leaped to the right just in time. I could feel his fur brush mine as he barely missed me and I snapped my teeth around his shoulder. He called in pain and started to buck, throwing me off so I flew though the air, and landed on the ground with such force that the air flew from my body.
The elk charged before I could recover. I could feel his antler hit my ribs and his head being thrust around, tossing me around like a dead rabbit. Many times I flew though the air and slamming upon the ground and each time the buck attacked before I could recover. I knew he was killing me but strangely I wasn’t afraid. I tried with my might to fight back and again I tried to attack him.
I felt my teeth sink into the skin, right in between the antlers and the taste of his blood. It was a sensitive spot and he gave a loud call. He tossed his head and the same time, tossing me away again. I waited for my body to hit the ground again but right before I could a new scent reached my powerful nose.
I felt teeth dig into my scruff, catching me before I fell onto the ground. It was another wolf, a male. He gently laid me down but my body had taken to much beating. I could hear him snarling as he fought off the elk.
The scent of blood became powerful and then after a few seconds the sound of a heavy body hitting the ground. The scent of death reached my nose. I tried to get up but there was no strength in my limbs. I could hear paws thrumming the ground as the male came my way.
“Are you okay?” He whispered in my ear. His voice was deep and slow, soft as a feather.
“I think” I croaked.
I could hear a chuckle. “I killed the buck for you. He really wasn’t very skilled in battle” I could hear the curiosity burning in his tone. “By the way, my name is Verion” I could hear his breath tickle my ear.
I tried to push myself up to a sitting position while talking. “My name is Fira, it means -” Just then a new type of blackness washed over me. It was darker but with one point of light, the flame inside me. I had lost conscious.
Should I post the other half?

The light was soft, like a gentle caress. His eyes opened slowly, barely moving. The wind hurt as it flowed over the places where he had begun to crumble. Slowly, he looked up, up towards the roof of the chapel, where he had once sat. Now, he slouched by the side of the rear stairs, dilapitated as much as they were. This once proud building, now a ruin. He was alone here, but solitude at least, he understood. He had never been a group person, never enjoyed having to talk to others.
Quiet pawsteps sounded from around the corner, and he jerked his head to the right, wincing as a piece of his ear fell off, falling onto a metal grate with a pinging noise. He froze, eyes wide, as a gleam of pink light crept around the edge of the building.
Rays of daylight struck her, turning pink as they traveled through her. She sighed, lonely. She had been alone for a long time. As the building had slowly crumbled, her family had slowly left. She was the only one left, and she would never leave. A sudden quiet pinging noise made her pause, but her curiosity was too great. She turned the corner, bathing a small, hidden courtyard in soft pink light.
She gasped.
There, half hidden in a corner and slowly crumbling away, a statue stared at her with startled eyes.
