Also as a note, I think it would be quite boring if the litters could only have the same eye colors, I love that each artist picks their own color for their pup's eyes as it adds to their personality and character.

If the eyes where the colours of the pallet they would blend in more，almost like it had no eyes. Heck if that became a rule the artists might not use one of the colours given other then for the eyes so that they stand out. In every single animals community or lifestle the eyes are a big part of comunicating. Canines see eye contact as a sign of domance，humans that there being listened to，meercats use there eyes to detect danger. Get my drift Eyes are one of the most important things in animals(excluding moles and other ground dwelers) and NEED to stand out in some breeds or how would you know they where there?
I LIKE how the eyes stand out on the staff pets，it gives them more personality like for the tiger staff dog the shape of the eyes make it look I savage and ferice but the colour makes it look kind and soft，Calm like a summer pool in a shelted glade.
Sollbes imp/Dragon/Devil dog makes me think he's a cheeky little guy but with a kind heart.
Plums makes me think that dog will listen to anyone's troubles and offer the right comfort need.

And most of those are by the eye colour and shape alone.
For example if the tiger staff dog had Red eyes I would think it was the devil hidden in the shape of a tiger dog and wished to kill us all!
If sollbys had say gold eyes I would be confused beyond help Becuse it would appear he's happy with the mischief he causes no matter the damage.
Plums，well I think all colours would work with the shape with hers so not helpful there.

But what Ian trying to say if that in the staff litter and all others，the eye colour matters so you can tell what the pets feeling from it.
