This is the C$ values thread, not the pet values thread. ^^; Also, a non-list (and non-store) very rare is only valued at two rares from the same year, no more than that.


The late 2009 rare rat = 30-35 C$.

The mid 2009 very rare (August) rainbow draft = 35-40 C$.
The early 2009 rare (January) dog = 40-45 C$.

Ok. So this is a hypothetical question. It's about the "Why don't C$ values add up like pets?" section. A Sunjewel is worth 1840 C$. Suppose you opened up a C$ shop and sold 62 '09 rares at 30 C$ each. That would be 1860 C$. Then you could buy a Sunjewel?! That doesn't seem remotely fair. People trading would have to go through waaaay more to get a Sunjewel. In pets, 62 '09 rares is like a high September. The C$ thing seems like less of a way to make sure people don't spend too much money and more of a loophole caused by problematic conversions.

So do people actually sell their mainlists for C$? Because they really wouldn't get their money's worth for them, so to speak. Sorry if this has been asked before, but it really, really bothers me.

ahh it bothers me too, but I think that's why most people don't trade their mainlists, and sometimes Septembers too, for c$.
Every trade I've seen with a C$ being traded for a decent demand mainlist usually is overpaying on the C$ side. For example, I saw someone trading 2700 C$ for a sunjewel,
but even with that much overpay the person didn't really want to accept. So no, most people don't trade their mainlists for c$, at least not the worth that's stated on the front page.
