Found the site at New Year's Eve 2008, while waiting for midnight to arrive I got to borrow my dad's laptop since boring "adult-talk" wasn't really something for me and my sister. We'd already adopted pets outside an account, but this was when I made an account, one for each of us. I recall sending the saddest message ever to Tess, since my itsy bitsy brain believed me and my sister would be banned since we traded pets and shared the same IP adress. Thankfully deleted now, but I still remember the cringe-worthy amount of smilies, the misspelling of "with" ("whit") and so on. >.<

Didn't get into the forums before the Oekaki board came along, which made me... Relatively active on the forums for a while. Took a break mid-2009, but re-found it later during the year and kept at it I guess. Resumed to just adopting my monthly amount of pets for now, curious of what the future brings. :)

I think I first found CS like right after tbe site started, and adopted a bunch of pets that are now at the top of the rares list (I specifically remember having two or three sorbets and one of each balloon), but didn't realize when they first started the account system so I missed the window for adding my accountless pets. I remember when PETZ was also either a part of this site or an affliate? The only linearts when I joined were dogs, warrior cats, and rats. I remember when they first introduced the butterfly wolves.

EDIT: I just noticed that I'm four days past my seventh CS anniversary lol

mine was mallory4u and i remember being so relieved when they added the username change feature omg

My first name was Shian, after a character I had. I changed my name to -Firestar- after my Star Wars Galaxies character. I felt closer to her and all my online buddies call me Firestar. But the search system won't work with that name, so I tried to change it back to Shian, but it was taken by a COPPA user. I waited over a year for them to read my message and I am very thankful they were so understanding and gave me my name back. If the search ever starts supporting characters though, I'd like to go back to -Firestar-.

I used to be some-days-are-gold, I can't remember when I switched, but I'd always referred to myself as 'gold' anyhow and decided to just switch over!~

I'm a bit past the thread qualifications, oops, but I wanted to share a few things! I remember when I first joined, the old site layout was the layout where the tabs were on the side of the page, and I was relatively new when it all switched over so I was very lost on the site for my first month or so!

And does anyone remember when you could see all of the pound pets at once, which made it much easier to snag the older pets? The only time I could catch the pound under that layout was my second day here, so I just grabbed the first pet I saw xD

Story time: I actually first joined in mid-2009, and found it via Furry Paws (which I haven't been on for years), but then I left for a while because I was more interested in PokéFarm and forgot my password and all that stuff. Then some people from PF (re)directed me to this website. Some of the pets from around when I joined still make me nostalgic. Neutral Dog, Pink Glitter Dog, the music note litter...

Yeah, I'm very attached to dogs released in the month I joined too. I can name them all even from a picture of just the blanket stage. I think everyone has a special connection to the month they joined because it's new and exciting. Everything else is just extra.

Yeah, I still have my first pet, still dressed in his free jungle outfit I did on my first day here. And the white appaloosa horse from Jan. 10 is one of my favorite pets here. I was kinda upset when her lineart change took effect, honestly. One of those things that brought me nostalgia!

It definitely is nostalgia. In 2008 I remember users trying to get my Advent pets with some less valuable pets all the time, haha. We didn't have a rarity system back then and even the oldest pets were kinda new, so it was hard to determine their value. I can clearly remember creating a thread that said "Looking for a black dog with blue eyes", nowadays we all know what I was talking about. He has been my favourite dog ever since. ^_^

I am now anxiously waiting for an item rarity system. It is almost impossible to get good offers for any older items.

This is more recent, but remember the old system where every pet was uncommon? Trading back then was really awkward.

(The technical reason for this is because rarity is calculated by how many of a pet there are on the site compared to how many users there are, meaning that inactive accounts were being counted into rarity calculation.)

I remember some of the first custom pets, the time before accounts, Malk's pets being the bomb-dot-com (i dont know if they still are, not as active tbh!) and the chatbox!!

Never in my life would I have imagined back then that one day, people would overpay for those warrior cats! I had hundreds of them because they were so easy to get even after they were long taken off the adopt page.
It was crazy to see them get VR status.

I remember all the warrior cats and butterfly wolves. Those two are what got me to sign up in the first place!!
I remember thinking, man, butterfly wolves are the greatest combination ever.

Todays my 7 yr anniversary on CS so i figured it would be a good idea to post here today haha
