For the first time in her life, Pastel felt a deep seeded dread when the first telltale flakes of snow drifted down from the heavens. Winter had always been her favorite holiday - watching the world being covered in a layer of pure white was truly beautiful, all evils and stains blanketed by innocence. But that chilly, autumn morning was met with nothing but worried violet.

Would he still come?

Pastel sighed softly at the fear that wouldn't leave her, hands smoothing against the quilt covering her mattress, gazing bitterly at the frosted glass of her window.

Nothing had stopped Eclipse from coming before. He came when the wind howled so loudly it shook the very roots of the trees. He came when the heavens split open and rain poured from the sky. He came when the sun burned with such an intensity the mere concept of doing anything at all was pure insanity. And yet she couldn't help but doubt he'd be so willing to face the bitter cold of the oncoming snow.

Selfishly she wished he would; but she would certainly not hold it against him if the thought of sitting on her window sill in the bitter cold proved to much for him. After all, she herself certainly wouldn't be willing to do it. No matter how much she loved Eclipse - and love him she did, with all her heart, with an intensity that the thought of going a day without seeing his smiling face threatened to stop her very soul from breathing.

For the first time since that day they had met, Pastel was actually taken completely by surprise when the sound of fists rapping against glass snapped across her ears. "He wouldn't-!" She exclaimed in pure shock, springing from her bed as if stung.

Oh but he would - she could see him through the frost fogging her window, blue eyes sparkling and black hair powdered with snow, wings slowly pounding at the air to keep him level with her room. Pastel dashed to the window in a daze, yanking it open to stare with wide eyed wonder at the beaming face of her boyfriend.

"Eclipse, are you completely mad!? It's thirty below!" She exclaimed in pure disbelief. "Oh you-! Get in here!" She grabbed his arm before he even had a chance to respond, yanking him inside and out from beneath the falling snow. Eclipse merely laughed in a mildly bemused manner as Pastel hastily brushed the snow from his hair and shoulders, cheeks flecked with pink from the cold.

"Pastel, Pastel, calm down!" He managed to get out, catching her wrist and gently pulling it away from his hair, staring into her bewildered eyes with a warm smile. "Wha'? Did yeh actually think I wouldn' come?" He inquired, leaning forward to press his forehead to Pastel's - she grimaced only briefly at the icy feel of his skin before hurriedly pressing back into the contact, desperate to warm her boyfriend. "It'll take more den some snow tah keep me away from yeh." Eclipse stated firmly, the hand not holding hers reaching up to press against her cheek.

"But..." The words died on her lips - which slowly curved upwards into a smile and she released a small chuckle, withdrawing her hand from his grasp to hook her arms around his neck. "You're insane - but I love you." She stated, feeling his arms curl around her waist, drawing her closer to his warming form. "...And I'm glad you came." She added in a soft murmur, pressing her cheek to his.

She felt more then saw him smile in reply.

Pastel wasn't sure how long they stood there, just enjoying the warmth of each other's embrace - but she knew that when they finally did break away, Eclipse was no longer cold.

"I'm gla' I came to." He stated finally with dancing eyes, kissing her nose and causing her to giggle, crinkling her face at him.

"Pastel? Who're you talking to up there?"

And the room turned to ice; both of them froze, eyes widening in matching expressions of pure terror. In her shock at Eclipse's sudden appearance, Pastel had completely forgotten her papa was home - and she certainly hadn't been keeping her voice down.

"Oh no." She groaned quietly in horror, shooting a paniced look at her bedroom door. "Eclipse, you-"

"-shoul' leave, yah, on i'." Came the hurried whisper; and then he dove in, capturing her lips in a kiss that sent jolts of lightning all the way to her toes. He broke off hurriedly at the sound of her father's footsteps on the staircase. "I'll be back. Promise. Wai' for me." Eclipse whispered, shooting one last look at her door before in a whirl of blue he had opened her window and vanished into the rapidly falling snow.

Pastel barely had time to shut the window before the thud of her father's knuckles meeting the wood of her door echoed in the emptyness of her room.

"Pastel!? Are you alright!?" His voice barked, concern and hostility blending together - but Pastel wasn't frightened. She knew the hostility was directed to the boy who had been in her room, and not towards herself.

"Y-Yes papa! I'm fine! Why do you ask?" She inquired, trying hard to keep the quiver from her voice.

There was a heavy silence. "...I heard you talking..Is there someone in there with you?" He growled out - and Pastel blinked. He had heard her talking? Surely he must have heard... but he hadn't?

Relief poured through her veins; for whatever reason, he hadn't heard Eclipse. Of course, her boyfriend hadn't been nearly as loud as her, so perhaps... She tried hard not to let the relief show in her voice. "No papa, don't be silly! I was just talking to myself - I'm practicing a speech for school!" She called back, heart pounding in her chest, praying that the lie would be bought.

"...Oh." A pause. "...Alright then." Another pause. "...Make sure to keep your window closed. It's gonna be a cold one." And she heard the sound of his footsteps retreating from her bedroom door.

It took all Pastel's strength not to collapse on her bed and cry with relief. Instead she pressed a hand to her chest, taking a deep breath and holding it, willing her nerves to relax. At one time, lying to her father was a concept that was simply impossible. But for Eclipse...for Eclipse she would do anything.

Shakily making her way over to her window, she stared through the frosted glass out at the snowy wonderland below.

Eclipse's footsteps were buried beneath white - and she smiled a tad tiredly.

Ena took in a sharp breath, closing her eyes as the cold North winds blew across her dense fur. "Andrew." She murmered, her voice being carried away by the wind. Andrew turned to face Ena. "Yes?" Ena opened her eyes, looking over at Andrew, seeing nothing. "What is color like?"

Andrew smiled, nuzzling Ena's shoulder. "It's like a warm spring day. The bees are buzzing, the birds are chirping, and you haven't a care in the world."

Ena smiled at his response. "I can see it now, my love." Andrew closed his eyes, and laid his head on Ena's shoulder. "I know you can."

My friend told me this story, and I wanted to use it for one of my pairings. I did not write this story, nor did I invent it, but now I'm just writing it down as I remember it. :3

Unnamed & Shiloh
The girl is young, with long, blonde hair. Shiloh is a horse.

There once was a young girl who lived in her mother, far far away, deep next to tall mountains that adorned the sky and lit the earth with their beauty. The young girl was often beaten by her mother, for her mother was often times evil to her and detested her daughter. So she would run up hill, near the mountains, where a herd of horses lived. And here, she found the gold.
No one really knew what was up with this place, yet it held a magical, eerie feeling. However, she loved it, being alone here, but sometimes her mother brought her too much pain, so she would go see the horses. Instead of bringing back the gold to her mother, she would hold out the gold in her hand, and the horses would stop for her, would bend down, and gently eat the gold. Eat the gold until it was no more. And after they ate the gold, they would sing the most heart-breaking, the most gentle and touching song you would have ever heard, and the young girl would fall asleep beside the gentle creatures.
But later on, she ran out of gold. But to her, it didn't matter. She took out some scissors and cut off her hair, and then went to the horses and held out her hand. Yet no horses stopped for her, until finally, the horse named Shiloh stopped, and nibbled her hair as though it were gold. She jumped on his back, and the two disappeared into the night, and were never seen again.
