{{ A young q.ueen and her consort }}

Jarrika sighed as she gazed out the window of her room.
It had now been exactly a week since Niin had left on an urgent family emergency to visit his dying mother. Of course she had let him go, but oh how she missed him. She felt as if a part of her had been cut off. A very large part.
"Anything I can do for you, m'lady?"
She turned at the hesitant question, asked by her head maid, Tessa. All of the servants around the castle had been very cautious in what they said to her lately, knowing how sad and disconnected she felt without Niin.
She smiled sadly and shook her head. "No thanks, Tessa, but it was kind of you to ask."
The maid nodded knowingly and bowed her head, stepping out the room to leave her Queen in peace with her thoughts.
Jarrika sighed again, turning back to the window. "Perhaps reading will distract me." she said aloud to no one in particular. Picking up her favorite book, a silver card fell to the floor, slipping out from within its pages.
Intrigued, she picked it up and opened the small envelope. Inside was a picture of her and Niin, sitting on the swing in the garden and laughing. On the back was a message from him.
Together forever, never apart, maybe in distance, but never in heart.
See ya soon, Babygirl.
