This is just a weird little story that I wrote because I felt like it
please feel free to just ignore it
it's not very good anyway

Two young friends ran together through a schoolyard, blissfully unaware of the world around them. Stopping to catch their breath beneath their favourite tree, they looked into each other's eyes and exchanged innocent smiles.
"We'll always be best friends, right?"
"Of course we will. For ever and ever!"
The boy gave his friend a quick hug, then they got back up and resumed their play.
And they were happy.

Two boys sat together in a high school library. They did not speak to each other; they kept to their own books. Finally, after much hesitation, one of them spoke to the other.
"Are... are you sure you still want to be friends? I mean... after all that's changed..."
"Of course I still want to be your friend. I would never leave you."
They hugged each other tightly, both silently vowing to never let the other go.
And they were happy.

Two young men stood together in a small university dorm room. In a serious, slightly nervous tone, one of them said to the other:
"I... I don't think I want to be your friend anymore."
"Oh... that's... ok, I guess... I mean, I suppose it had to happen eventually..."
The second boy hung his head, and started to make his way toward the door.
"Wait-"
The first boy stopped him, gently putting his hands on his shoulders and staring straight into his eyes.
"What I mean is, I don't want us to just be friends anymore. I want us to be more than that. I love you. I always have."
Both young men were now in tears. They stared silently at each other for what seemed like an eternity, until the silence was finally broken by four simple words:
"I love you too."

The two old friends shared their first kiss, and from that moment on, they never left each other's sides.

And they were happy.

Neat! But on the puppy stages, you put that the bobbed one was a female.

Le story?

I was a low-life. I fell in love with a beautiful lion, and now I've payed the price. Blood drenched my black paws and glinted off of my studded collar. Tears spilled from my ice blue eyes and I collapsed, blood drenching my fur.

I was such a spineless fool. How could I have ever fallen in love with her? Her extravagant beauty was captivating, I admit, but still. A wildcat and a lion? What kind of couple is that? I'm an idiot. Or at least I was until the accident...

I was out hunting by the lake, my claws itching to feel the warm and wet sensation of spilt blood. I saw it ahead of me, a plump rabbit. I crouched down and padded forwards, as stealthy as a fox. I was no more than a foot away when I leaped. A flash of movement caught my eye as I pushed off, causing my back paw to slip. I crashed to the ground with a thud. I get to my paws and wince, my pad burning from grass-burn. The rabbit is gone and then I see her, cradling the rabbit in one massive forepaw. Her green mane decked with flowers and pale designs streaked through her fur. I am captivated, my eyes milky. She's a beautiful lion, her floral mane blowing gently in the breeze. Her claws unsheathe on one paw and she glares at me through stunning eyes. A low growl begins deep in her throat and then...

The butterfly wolf was sitting there on his snout when Meadow rose from his peaceful slumber. "Oh, hello! I'm Poppy." The butterfly wolf spoke. It's voice was raspy, like a Kookaburra. Meadow jerked his head up and shook the butterfly wolf off. He landed on the lush grass with a thud. "Hey!" He yapped angrily.

Meadow barked quietly. "Why were you sleeping on my snout?" asked Meadow in his usual quizzical tone. "Because everyone has to sleep. I just chose the nearest spot." Poppy replied.

"Well, then, sleep on the grass or something. My snout is mine and your snout is yours."

"No, no. You've got it all wrong, buddy!" Poppy fluttered back atop Meadow's snout. "We're friends; Ergo, what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours." he explained. Meadow still sighed.

Poppy soon fell asleep once again when Meadow lied his head back on the grass. After a moment of hesitation, he decided Poppy was right. Sharing is a good thing.

And so they fell asleep on the soft grass with the dragonflies whirring around and the neighing and bleating and whinnying of the farm animals in the distance.

I stood beyond your grave, minding my business as the rain pelted your snow-white escape.
"Alex," I whispered, bent down and innocently flashed a depressed smile. I let my fingers run over the edges most near on the coffin and the engravings on the bottom. My voice was wispy like the wind, scratchy indeed. "Alex..." I repeated in more of a ghostly whisper, more as if I was mouthing it with my cracked lips. "I refused you, then decided my love was not to be hidden anymore. I was afraid to tell you, and that caused you to drift way of me. I remember that exact day I saw her in your arms, wearing your sweatshirt you used to offer me and I would abruptly shove it back. I died inside then, Alex. You never knew. I thoughtlessly pushed you away until you were gone, and I could no longer return to the warmth of your arms that I secretly strived for."

I ran my fingers lightly over the coffins edges once more and stood, staring at it. I have to tell you the truth, Alex, even though you're gone. I knew you thought of me, and I thought of you too.

Every second of every day, Alex.
Here, Alex. I set a boquet of sweet-scented red roses at the front of your coffin.

I know that roses are your favourite.
