Found screenshots of these old layouts on google. I didn't realize how much I missed that first one! I started to come to chicken smoothie in 2008 for temporary adoptables until I finally decided to get an account... missed out on all the pets from November '08 to May '09 because it took so long for me to decide :'( Anyways I think the first layout will always be my favorite because of the nostalgia attached to it.

Coming from Sept '09, that second one is the one I remember. ^_^

I miss the good old days when trading was fun and I was working on collecting all those valuable '08s and early '09s for the first time.


Remember when Rainbow Drafts and Warrior Cat and those Grey 2nd Gens and early Butterfly Wolves were clogging up the Pound and you couldn't give them away!

I joined in 2013 when i found out about it from like gaming website videos on youtube.
Both of my dream pets are from 2008 too lol
The old times looked so different from how the layout is now.

I know! My first trade was a Vampiric b-day dog for one the May '09 swirl dogs. You had a better chance of getting older pets because the values weren't so high compared to other pets as they are now. And the misfit pets also xD I feel horrible now about how I deleted my drafts or tried to hand them off to whoever would take them (most people didn't ever want them in trades), but I guess it's because most people didn't like the old designs. Regardless - I sure regret it now.

Haha yes, the Tess horses and warrior cats and butterfly wolves and second gens were pretty much impossible to give away couldn't even give them to hoarders because there weren't many back then haha

Used to get them from the Pound every time I caught it open.

And the Pound... Used to be pages and pat s and everybody would jump to the end and quick try to grab up the older pets.

It's fairer now but so much less exciting.
No more mad rush at the beginning.

Oh yeah, one of the primitive versions of the pound xD We'd attach &page=20 or whatever it was to the URL and then we'd just refresh until the Pound opened. I think I saw a blue balloon and blue toxic doing that but was too slow to grab them

The first version of the pound makes me laugh harder. It was basically an adoption center run by Nick or Tess, forum thread and everything, only it was "first post first serve" xD

Question to all: If you had to restart entirely, would you?

I think I would. Sometimes I wish I could still feel the excitement when I reached the last 5 pages of my wishlist and was so close to a complete collection, but still there were some pets to go. I try to keep myself entertained with hoards, but it's not the same.

I remember the first layout. I liked it, but then again I didn't like it at the same time.
I loved the second layout though. I actually miss the second layout a lot more than the first one.

The early days were fun just seeing if a pet was cool or not and appreciating each one you had. I wouldn't restart though because I've spent money on CS and also many many hours getting event banners. I am satisfied with my collection as well.
