I walk cautiously down the isle, mumbling to myself about the chaos going on around the kingdom.

"Milady'," A guard smiled.

I scowl at him, planting my tush on the soft throne. "What, guard," I mumble.

"Umm," He said under his breath. "Chaos has reached the kingdom entirely."

I screamed and got up furiously from my soft chair. "Tell me something I dont know!"

He frowned sadly. I know Im a good, peaceful girl, but this wasnt going to do. I can be persuasive and mean at times, even though im the goddess of peace and earth and kindness. Everyone, And I mean everyone, no matter who they are, has been mad at times.
"Sorry, milady," He apologized sheepishly. "But we need to do something. The book of peace has been stolen.
But, on the good hand, there was a new child born! We must protect him."

I smiled. "Ahh... A new child? He shall be mine!" The guard frowned but quickly smiled, trying not to show his look. "But, dear queen and goddess, he... isnt yours. A peasent had him." I scowled rudely again, gesturing to bring the lady who has given birth to the child in. She flung through the doors, holding a dear, sweet and innocent looking child. The child was ripped and forced from her arms. She fell on her side crying, pleading to me. "Please, dear queen! Dont take my child!" I gestured to take her away.

I stroked the child gently. "I will name you....

Beauty, when she meets this boy and gets to know him, he looks mean and evil, but under all that yellow android stuff is a heart of gold and he helps her regain peace to their land.
So their not really the actual PARENTS.

I stare out the window with my new son. He is so handsome, in a family-loving way.
"My son, my son, dont ever fly away. Dont grow up." I sing to him. "Please dont ever grow up."

I can see his eyes pop open. Turns out, now he thinks im his mother, because this is his first eye opening! I shriek with joy. "Farasah!" I snuggle my face close to him, as he smiles cutely. Aww! He's so adorable.
That little smile reflects on me and I smile back as he giggles. I hear the peasent "non-mother" burst through the doors, jumps up to me, and steals Farasah from my paws. "Oh Jeremy, its okay. Mommy's here." Oh my gosh. Did she just say what I thought she said? I scowl at her and take Farasah back. "Excuse me, peasent, but he is mine and his name isnt Jeremy. Its Farasah." I argue. Farasah falls out of the peasent's hands. I drop to the ground, picking him up as he sobs. "Aww, did Farasah get a booboo? Let mommy kiss it better." I kiss his forehead, which he had been dropped on by the lousy and pathetic peasent. "Leave now, peasent. He is mine, and forever will be. His name is Farasah, and nothing will change that." The peasent doesnt move. I gesture the guards to carry her away.

Farasah looks worried, he stares at the peasent. I sing him a lullaby and assure him that lady is just crazy. Good thing he doesnt know what words are yet.

She lifted one finger, waiting.
She smiled, and then, in a blissful move, she began.
She began to play her song, her fingers running across the piano's keys with a sudden, quickening fury.

Silian stood, his gaze pressed across every movement of her fingers.
The boy, held in his naivety, was mesmerized; the woman, in her halo of light, seemed perfectly ethereal.
She was beautiful.

Her song was beginning to slow, suddenly embraced in a slow, melodic tune.
Silian took a few hesitant steps forward, still captivated by the woman's talent. As he reached her, the song came to its end.
Silence pierced the air; they stood for short moments, two pairs of eyes watching each other.

The woman, still looking at him, allowed her smile to deepen.
She held out her hand, her lips speaking quiet, soft-spoken words.

"Follow my lead, my love."

Mot Juste [♂] and Maiden Voyage [♀]


A mistaken definition of love...

Mot Juste tapped his pencil against his desk, his chair leaned back onto it's back two legs. Faster and faster, he tapped. Finally, he abruptly stopped, his chair falling back onto all four legs. He put his head into his hands and sighed before finally turning to WritBot 001, nicknamed Maiden Voyage. She sat attentively, watching him like she always did. At first, this had quite disturbed Mot Juste, but eventually he had become used to it.

"Maiden, can you give me some help?" he asked, dragging one hand down his face as he gave in to using the robot.

"Of course," she replied in her odd voice, moving to Mot Juste's shoulder.

"I need help with this article title," he explained, running a hand through his hair and wishing he was working on a novel instead of a newspaper article. "I want it to be something like 'A Voyage Through Time and Space,' but that's so cliché. It'll never work!" He smacked the paper angrily.

Maiden looked at it silent, a quiet humming coming from her. Mot Juste, so used to the sound, didn't notice it as he waited, face propped on hand. A moment later, she spoke.

"'An Expedition of Wonder,'" she suggested.

"That's it!" Mot Juste cried excitedly, jumping up from his chair and hastily scribbling it down. As he ran out the door to to the newspaper editor's, he called out, "I love you Maiden. I love you!"

The door banged shut, and Maiden Voyage was left alone, the late afternoon streaming through the windows. Love? Mot Juste loved her? Maiden rested on the floor quietly collecting all that she knew about the concept of love within her. Love was an intense longing for someone, was it not? So, it must make sense that he loved her, seeing as how she helped him all the time. He couldn't do his job correctly without her. But did she love him ?

Maiden reviewed. She liked her job. She remembered the time before he had purchased her, the boredom and monotony. She was happiest when at work. If she didn't work, she was unhappy. Mot Juste used her for work. So, being with Mot Juste made Maiden Voyage happy. If she was happy with him, then she must long for him when he wasn't around. So, yes, she was in love with him.

Maiden couldn't wait for him to get back so she could tell Mot Juste that she loved him too.

...some months later...


Impetus [♂]

Mot Juste sat at his desk, staring at the blank piece of paper in front of him. Unfortunately, the state of the paper reflected his ideas. After being fired from his job, he could do nothing but attempt to write a novel. Being fired, however, had seemed to sap any ideas he had, and his novel so far had a grand total of zero words.

Sighing, Mot Juste glanced at Maiden Voyage, who was staring out the window. She had been quite bored these past few days, he knew, having no work to do. He smirked at a memory from a few months ago, when Maiden had told Mot Juste she loved him. At first he had been slightly alarmed, but her logic had put him at ease: she simply liked the work he assigned her. Things went on as normal. For a little while, at least.

But then Mot Juste had started thinking. Maiden was smart, helpful. She was even fun at times, and Mot Juste had become quite fond of her. Why shouldn't he love her? Because she's not human! She can't feel love! his mind screamed whenever these thoughts popped into his head. But against his better judgment, Mot Juste had fallen in love with her, the robot who couldn't feel. And, well, he hated to see Maiden bored.

"Maiden," he called. "Want to play a game?"

She turned toward him, looking expectant. "Of course."

"Give me synonyms for..." Mot Juste thought. "Progress."

After thinking a second, Maiden began to list them: "Advancement, improvement, betterment, growth, headway...evolution, impetus...amelioration!" She finished, sounding triumphant.

"Now, synonyms for..." he closed his eyes. "Love."

"Affection, adoration, attachment, infatuation, devotedness...adulation...enchantment..."

A knock on the door interrupted Maiden's list and Mot Juste's thoughts of love. Sleepily, he opened his eyes and walked to the door.

"Sign here," said the man at the door. A clipboard was thrust into Mot Juste's hands and he signed, thinking, my signature is about the only thing I can write nowadays anyway. The deliveryman rolled a large box into Mot Juste's living room and left without another word, taking the clipboard with him.

"I wonder what this could be," said Mot Juste, looking over the box. "I haven't ordered anything. Guess there's one way to find out." With a shrug at Maiden, he began to open the box. On top of whatever was in the box lay a letter.

"'Dear customer,'" Mot Juste read out loud. "'Due to your early interest in the WritBot, we have selected you to be a tester for our new robot, the Ally. The robot contained in this box--' 'The robot contained in this box!'" exclaimed Mot Juste. He continued: "'The robot contained in this box is the prototype, Ally000, nicknamed Impetus. He is designed to do whatever physical tasks you are unable or unwilling to do. Whenever it pleases you, return Ally000 and tell us what you thought of him. Sincerely, SotoRobotics Corp.'"

Mot Juste chuckled. "Impetus...progress!" Maiden laughed a little, also, a strange and rare sound that made Mot Juste smile again. Suddenly, she was at his side, studying the box in a way that didn't look particularly happy. Uneasily Mot Juste said, "I guess I'll unpack it--him--now." Maiden didn't reply, but continued to stare at the box.

Mot Juste separated the packing material and found the robot, already fully put together. As Maiden watched, he tilted the box on its side and pulled out the robot, Impetus. Finding a switch on the Impetus' back, Mot Juste flipped it.

Impetus stood up, opening cold, black eyes. He spoke, his voice flat: "What task to you require of me?"

"Uh," Mot Juste replied dumbly. "The dishes need doing...?" Impetus began to move toward the kitchen, but stopped upon seeing Maiden Voyage.

"A WritBot," he said, with something that sounded like scorn in his voice.

"Yes." The reply came from the usually-silent Maiden herself. She drew herself up and glared at Impetus. Mot Juste realized that, strangely, she was acting more human with another robot than she usually was around him. Impetus swung around and continued toward the kitchen, Maiden still looking venomously at him. Mot Juste could only blink and wonder what this meant.

Over the next few weeks, Maiden and Impetus managed to say the few words they did to each other in an increasingly hostile manner. While this made Mot Juste worry, he was intrigued by the other side he saw of Maiden; she had never seemed as human as she did in her anger--if that's even what it was--at the Ally robot.

But it wasn't just Maiden that Impetus upset. Mot Juste perpetually felt as if the new robot was looking down on him, and every task, from moving the desk to organizing the room came out of his mouth as a suggestion or question. Mot Juste felt as if ordering Impetus to do something would result in him being killed. Impetus seemed that cold and condescending.

"When are you going to send that robot back?" asked Maiden unexpectedly one day. Mot Juste was surprised: he didn't think he had ever heard Maiden ask anything.

"Do you want me to send Impetus back soon?" he replied.

"Yes." Maiden left for another room. Startled by her directness, Mot Juste studied his blank paper once again as he thought.

...

The next day, Impetus was again packed into his box.

"'Dear SotoRobotics,'" Mot Juste wrote. "'I found Ally000 very helpful in tasks, and had no trouble with his quality of work. However, I'd recommend you to change his personality, as I found him...' Maiden, how would you describe Impetus' personality?"

"Supercilious and fractious." She was resting on the floor seeming very pleased by what was happening.

"'very supercilious and fractious.'" Mot Juste signed his name and put the letter in the box. Soon the same deliveryman came and took the box and Impetus to the truck and, presumably, back to SotoRobotics Corp. Mot Juste rested his head against another blank paper on his desk and sighed.

He was a failing writer and was in love with a robot.

Perfect, just perfect.

I sing to him until he falls asleep. "Starlight, sunbright, your the only star I see tonight," I sing, grace and peace in my voice. "Wish me may, wish you might, your the only star I see tonight."
I start singing a little faster as Farasah snorts and snores. "Cats and the cradle and the silver spoon," I say. "Little boy blue and the man and the moon. When you comin' round, son I dont know when. But we'll get together then, dad." Oh my gosh. His snores are beautiful and soo cute.
He himself is adorable.
Ive never felt this family love with a child. But.. I do have a secret...
I have 3 children, but I.. dont love any of them. They are backstabbing family. They turned to the dark side.. Tried to kill me. I loved them before, but now... their just a little kitten in the large pit of despair in the blackness of my soul. Sounds a little gothic, I know, but thats what I feel.
"Dont ever betray me, Farasah. I love you." He squeaks and squeals a little, and starts to wake up. "Guraodhaso?" He mumbles, flipping in my paws.

I am now im my bedroom, setting Farasah into the little paw-made crib.
A man comes out of the shadows. I see he has some sort of.. /gunfire/
Before I know it, he has shot some sort of bullet into me and I am now lying unconsious on my large queen-fitting bed.
The man grabs Farasah, the loving prince, and flies out the window.
I wake up a few hours later and find Farasah... gone. This took shock to my face.
"Farasah!!!!" I scream out the window, flying down my large stairs. "Guards," I say. "Get Farasah!!! He has been stolen!!" The guards whisper around to eachother. I scream and yell and throw a fit, flailing my paws.
