Hoard Discussions Thread v.7!

I saw you post this one in the June thread and I wanted to say, it's the best name. I was thinking of making my own and just...steal that name, but I'm only doing 20. They'll go with my monthly hoard group and I'm joining late!

I thought about hoarding all three AAA mice, but it would mean two pages, or just 6 or 7 each. I'll just go with this one. I'm hoarding the flags, so that should be enough.

I had a similar dilemma with my own AAA ratties, I hate having uneven groups. I ended up going 6/6/8 with the ace flag getting the extra two to balance out the colors more. looks nice and my brain isn't yelling at me for having a 7/7/6 split or a non-20/50/100 number in the group.

(I need to go in and fix the names now I have the last ones (got it!) but yay, finished it! :D)

Now that I see an example, they look good! I think I'm picking two, but I'm still on the fence. I think I'll do a couple trades and see how I feel about the two I picked. I don't know why I waited so late to decide this either lol.

I'm tempted to combo this one with a corresponding flag item each (considering I'd only need 2-3 more of each flag) but I think I'm a bit burned out on hunting for hoards this month :'v edit: well that resolve lasted about ten minutes lol :'). guess it's a dual pet/item hoard now.

I reached my goal of 150 today!! <3 This time last year I had about 80 which is kinda crazy! I'm so immensely happy and excited to reach this milestone!! My goal is 175 now, these guys are getting insanely hard to find now though, so we'll see! cx

Flag update: I made several edits to my post above, but I managed to, with some quick swapping (and some very generous gifts! thank you all so much <3) finish my Queen Pride Rat group! ^o^

...except now I think I'm mildly addicted to this and am looking to do the same with my small queer dragons group, doing a half and half of the queer and the progress pride flags ;w;
(I'm really loving how it looks so far! already had about five of the flags already but hopefully I can find the last half relatively quickly. definitely not doing this for any of my other hoards though, too much to keep track of, oof.)

the main thing I'm coming across as the barrier to trading for the flags is that everyone only got 1x of each item when they were released, and ~80% of the people that trade items do not trade unless they have duplicates (and I'm the same way, so offering 1:1 swaps of flags the other person is looking for is harder since I too usually also only have the one copy). I've only traded for 6-7 flags so far, the rest were pound grabs or items I'd traded for in the past year they've been out (hah. accidental pun.) hence why I'm doing this one-page group and stopping at that ^^;;

wishing you the best with your own endeavors though! I don't know if it's an option for you but I've had luck in the past with C$ item shops?

another big milestone at 160,000 rats!!! i'm so grateful for everyone who has been helping me , whether through gifts or mass trades, or even the little trades.

i wish there was a tracker on this site for how many hours i've spent the past few years on this site, because all i've been doing when i'm here is sending and accepting trades.

i'm sure it's the same for a lot of other hoarders, especially those who specialize in contributing their entire trading fodder just to get hoard pets, but it's kind of like a little ounce of sunshine in my life, and it still makes me feel productive at the end of the day bc i know how freaking excited 2013 me would be to see how many rats i've gotten over the years.

anyways lol that's all, just an excited, silly little post about me reaching 160,000 rats!<3

I recently started a small hoard of the June 2023 horses and the June 2023 pan-flag dogs. I'm hoping to try and get my deer hoard to 8000 a month, so like 700 left? >.< I figured trying to get 1000 a month is a safe and potentially doable goal?

Question for my fellow hoarders so when you have multiple hoards how do you go about deciding what pets goes where when you have different hoards that the one pet could go into ?


for example I hoard dragons and snakes but I also hoard All rainbows and we have had some rainbow dragons and some rainbow snakes so idk weather I wanna keep them in the rainbow or the species group .

Edit - like I’m not sure weather I wanna keep the pets sorted for the color group or species group but there’s a few groups that I have that do that that I need to sort out into their final groups but idk what that will look like

I personally keep all my species together (deer/equine). Unless it's one specific outcome or litter, then they get their own group. I have an all rainbow hoard too, but I just consider it a collection since I'd rather have all pets on the same lineart in the same folder. (If that makes any sense?)
