Oh wow! What is Hanukkah about?

I only know that in a time of some need the Jewish people lit a candle and thought it would only be lit for one day, and it lasted eight days. I wish I knew the rest... Maybe someone could elaborate?

I just know that it means you shouldn't give up, have faith and hope, aswell as stay strong ^^

like someone said, it represents the time when Jewish people were in danger (I feel bad, since I am Jewish, but I can't remember excatly why they were in danger DX) and they only had enough il to light their menorah for one night, yetit lasted for eight. They considered it a miracle

I had heard it a long time ago, but I forgot too XD
