I just always look at the profile IDs. The last number in the URL of your profile.
Should be more reliable than the member's list, since the list doesn't display deleted accounts (I think?)
It only counts Forum accounts, tho, not people who have adopted pets.

Does anyone else remember how bwolves were the least wantes species as there was only one no-adoption-limit
litter available? I still recall those "I'm not interested in any Butterfly Wolves nor 2nd gens"s signs slapped onto trade threads. xD Can't believe so many of them have turned rare already... -nostalgic-

OMG this. I remember those 2nd-gen projects with slogans: "don't delete your 2nd-gens, give them away!". Only hoarders wanted them.

Hoarding wasn't even a thing until early 09.
Tess had at one point said something about the number of CS pets in existence and how badly it was lagging the server so many people went out and deleted all their duplicates. XD I don't think anyone had even considered hoarding back then because why have doubles? It was just unfathomable back then.

This. I remember adopting about 30 of the dark/light leopard litter and when I finally got a Dark leopard I just deleted all my spares. I think you probably would have gotten quite a lot of hate back then if you kept all of your duplicates because of how stressed the servers were. I can't remember anything about hoarding, either- but then again my memory is appalling soooo I could easily be forgetting a lot.
I also remember that you couldn't even give your warrior cats away because absolutely no one wanted them. No one. (Well, the ones that were around for like a year were worthless, at least)

Would be great to turn back time. CS was so much more relaxing in 08/09, in my opinion.

I agree, Julia. The CS community was so much smaller and I hate to say it, but also more welcoming and friendly in some ways. I may not have joined in '08 but I've been around for years - literally.

Ah, yes. How I long for the days when running an adoption center wasn't so stressful and when it meant that people were adopting your pets to give them a permanent home rather than immediately sticking them into a trade group and not giving someone else who wants that pet a chance...

(Not that it's bad to do that xD; Nothing against those who do! It just eases my mind more, since someone who says "I'll adopt this pet so that I can keep it~!" makes me feel better than someone who says "I'm going to stick this pet into my trades group where no one might offer on it" xD;; Again, nothing wrong or bad about that! It just doesn't leave as good of a taste in my mouth xD)

I agree completely with the three posts in front of me, CS was a more relaxing in general way back when. I feel like it's because there were so fewer pets and there were no huge demand spikes, so people were much more 'lax with trading and things like that. It was easier to get what you wanted and a nice, friendly conversation along with it. Plus you knew that whatever you traded away was going to a great home because they usually wanted it for the pet itself, not to have a high value pet to trade with, just personal experience/opinion ^^
