Should I write a story for them?

Cool breeze washes over the silent land. Moss growing on figures that do not move. Silence falls, and all is still. I smirk, only white fangs revealing themselves under my death black robe. Suddenly, the ground shakes, limp, brown leaves shiver on weak branches. In front of me, a gravestone cracks, sending a puff of black smoke. Rising out of the dirt is something that would terrify any bystander. I bow at the feet of the new figure. A low voice came from the creature, surrounded by black fog, not allowing any decent visual of what hides behind, only a faint white hue. "We meet again."

Part two:

Standing, I look the newcomer in the eye, darkness swallowing me in the lifeless holes. "You've kept me waiting." I speak. "For too long it may seem."

He turns his head to the silent land. "Just enough time has passed." He says, returning his glance to me. "You shall soon see why I brought you here. Your path shall soon reveal itself. But for now," His tail sliding along my chin. "you shall aid me in my work." The smoke soon disperses and a chained white figure reveals itself. Wind stirs loose brush as gravestones crack. I look back, hoping to see the man again, but he has vanished. Into thin air it seems. I walk away, leaving behind broken memories of lifeless people and crushed dreams. 'I will return.'

Pushing open the tavern door I stepped into the crowded room, narrowly avoiding the smashed glass that littered the floor. The tavern looked as it always did, it was full of the same disgusting people I saw each time I came and smelt of the same booze, but something felt slightly different today. The men were louder than normal, throwing punches all around and they all seemed to be crowding one thing. One person that was. Pushing past them I suddenly realised what it was that had made them like they were. It was a young girl, with long brown hair who was dressed in a short burgundy dress. She smiled in greeting as she stood from the stool she'd been sitting on and came walking in my direction.

"Not been here before?" I asked her as she brushed past me.
She shook her head "nope." She replied sweetly.

"It's true."

I bit my lip. How could he say such a thing? This was wrong. This was improper. This wasn't how normal people felt. There had to be something wrong with him. But he was my friend. I couldn't say that.

He frowned, shaking his head. "I knew you couldn't accept it." he sighed, sitting down on the swing, his feet dragging lightly on the ground as he swayed back and forth. "I knew you couldn't accept me." he added quietly.

"I just... It's just..." I stammered, unsure of what to say.

"Wrong? Immoral? Disgusting? Horrible?"

I shook my head. "Surprising." I said, glad to have found a word to fit. "I mean, I never even thought... What about Aliza?"

"I don't know... What am I even going to tell her?" Demetri muttered, his eyes on the ground.

"You tell her what you just told me." I replied. "You can't be with her if you aren't attracted to her."

He nodded. "Yeah. Thanks, Alex. I'll talk to you later." he said, getting up and leaving, paws in the pockets of his jacket.

"See you."

I took a deep breath, made a fist, and knocked lightly on the door. After a minute, my girlfriend, Aliza, opened the door. She smiled and invited me in. I shook my head.

Her smile disppeared. "What's wrong, Demetri?"

I looked away. "We can't be together anymore."

She stood silent for a minute. When she finally spoke, her voice wobbled, her eyes watering up. "Why not? Is there another girl?"

I shook my head again.

"Are you not attracted to me?"

I forced my eyes to her. "Yes. But not how you think. Aliza, you're a beautiful woman. You're stunningly gorgeous, and it's not you who I'm not attracted to. It's your..." I hesitated. It had been hard enough to say this to my best friend, how could I tell her? "Gender." I ended, pushing the word past my mind and out my mouth.

Aliza looked confused. "What?" she asked quietly, her eyes welling up with tears. "My...? Oh." she said in a hushed tone, understanding what I meant. "I get it. It's him, isn't it?"

I swallowed past the lump that grew in my throat from seeing her like this. I knew who she meant when she said "him". Alex. My best friend in the whole entire world. The one that I had secretly been attracted to for a long time - I had dismissed it, though, ignoring it. I wouldn't let myself believe the truth. I looked away from her again, unable to watch her cry. I nodded, just a slight movement of my head. "Sort of."

Tears dripped down her cheeks. "Oh... I..." she closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around me. "I'm not mad. I'm happy that you came to me, I'm happy that you're doing what you need to do. I'm going to miss you, Demetri. A lot. But if you're happy, I'm happy..." she pulled away, her cheeks wet and her eyes watery, holding mine. "I love you. I always will." she whispered.

I forced a broken smile. "You know that I love you, too, and I always have. Find someone who'll treat you good." I replied, turning away and walking down the steps, getting in my car, and driving away without a look back.

"I'll admit that it's what I don't understand that I fear"

"She was alright with it?"

He nodded, smiling a very small smile. "She cried, but she said that as long as I'm happy, she's happy, and that she's glad I did what I had to." the smile faded away quick. "If only everyone would react the way she would."

I pursed my lips, thoughtful. "You know, you have to tell your parents." I said after a minute.

Demetri's eyes went wide. "Oh God no!" he replied quickly. "I can't tell my parents. Do you know what my dad would say? He hates gays. He hates everything about homosexuality. He'd kill me. And my mom wouldn't exactly be happy either."

"You can't just pretend to be someone you're not." I told him softly, putting a hand on his shoulder. "What are they going to say if you start bringing guys home instead of girls just out of the blue?"

"I don't know. But I can't tell them. I can't tell anyone. Everyone at school would hate me if they knew. Do you know how badly I'd be picked on? You've heard all those stories of the kids who come out. They end up getting bullied so bad that they commit suicide! Nobody can know! Nobody. I'm scared, Alex, I really am. I'm probably the only one in the entire town..." Demetri rambled, only working himself up more.

If only he knew that he wasn't.
