We have counted numbers up to 5.5 million! A volunteer is working on adding those number to the actual count sheet! It feels good to get started again!
With that said, I'd like to let you all know that we did set up a Discord Server! Feel free to join
Wow that's fantastic! You guys are awesome for putting so much work into this <3

We have two volunteer opportunities!
With the updated images for store pets, they also got new k-keys and we need the new k-keys for 2009-2013!
How to do:
CS Archive Link: http://static.chickensmoothie.com/archi ... &bg=cccccc
k-key: k=DDE61C2911C0DA8C981C9316203F08F8
The other opportunity is to go through numbers 6-7 million and look at each unknown ID and determine if it's a store pet or not. The code wasn't counting store pets due to the new keys so we have to manually go back and look at the unknown IDs.
How to do:
1. Open the files, inside are pet IDs tagged "UNKNOWN"
2. Example: "6600003,UNKNOWN"
Do this in your browser: viewpet.php?id=6600003
3. Change the log file from UNKNOWN to what the pet name is
Daryll will send you the files if you choose to do this option.
Thanks Giraffeti!
Thank you guys! This will be a huge help <3
Once we get the directory updated with the new k-keys, we can resume counting ^^

Agreed! I think the polls for the rares list will be a nice band aid for the situation, but this rarity list is the surgery we all need. 😂

since i don't really post on cs anymore, i'll put my opinion on the new rarity update here: i love it. i love that we can finally see where pets sit on the rarity spectrum, instead of everything bunched up around uncommon. the only thing i wish had been added in this update is a new tag between vr and omgsr. with around 20 or more pets going omg, where do they sit according to each other? hopefully this list will help decipher that but in the mean time, i am going to quote a part of the FAQ to show how we will handle that. with a more accurate rarity update, hopefully we won't need to shuffle anything and the numbers will match the rarities :)
Q: Why are some Very Rares on the list higher than OMG So Rares?
A: The most straight forward answer is that our code can't check for how recently an account has been active the way that CS Servers do when they do rarity updates. Even if we could, we would have to rerun the code for all of this data each year and seeing as the first million pets took us two weeks, it's not really a feasible option. The other answer is that we don't want to manipulate the list with out actual data to back it. While it is true that these pets are less rare (we can tell that by the tag), we don't know where they would go because of inactive accounts.
We may be open to discussing this procedure in the future once we have more numbers (rereleases), depending on how the community feels about it.
bonus: 8 million counted (which includes the 09 rerelease ;)), working on 8-8.5 million :)
once 09 is done counting (and it almost is woo!), i'll post another preliminary list structure based on numbers like we did for the 2008 pets.

I'm very thankful for this project and for all of the work so many have done here. In the advent of this massive rarity overhaul it's nice to know that there is a list coming out that's based solely on rarity. The rares list has grown to be a mess and very outdated so I'm grateful for this new basis for trading.

Could I suggest in our final list, that we use colour coding to distinguish between natural releases and UR pets? Because UR pets in particular will seem rarer than natural releases like the nons, when in fact for trading purposes they may be significantly less rare because there would be far more on active accounts and available for trade. So it feels incorrect to suggest they are rarer from a trading perspective when they probably aren't, and colour coding might be a little more noticeable.
I will be interested to see how the UR numbers sit amongst the older pets. Part of me wonders if they should be in a separate list in order to represent them more accurately, but I would want to see the data first. I am just concerned that each year a new UR is released, it will be much rarer than pets given multiple rereleases, but then the second year it will plummet in the listing when its supply should effective double while the older pets will have less rereleases, if that makes sense.

so the different color is to distinguish them, not show value right? so the ur apple would get the color change just like the ur tiger dog?
i still haven't really figured out what to do with unreleases since i know it has been brought up a couple of times that numbers will be skewed for them (and they will be since they are only released once a year). we can probably decide that when we actually get numbers. now that we will have the 09 rereleases, we can at least get a glimpse of what urs will do compared to other numbers. just a small correction to something you said though, unreleases are unlikely to double as the change of adopting them the year they are released is about 6x as high as any other pet if i recall what tess said correctly. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but i think that is what number she said. ^^
