whatever the heck that means.

I think the star means wishlist and chronicles is a synonym of archives.
I went to July 2010 in the archives and found some pets that remind me of the dressed up deer- the sparkle butterfly wolves and a galaxy pony...

the 'skeleton' presumably refers to last year's outcome, or maybe their design this year also has skeletal themes!

That's what I thought as well!
The hint doesn't seem to be about Cabenth and I have not found another group/ thing/ whatever relating to "X", so this group would make sense, especially since all the pets are called "X" as well-

I was thinking this hint might have to do with Aerona, but I didn't read anything about their skeleton glowing in the dark.
