The Kirin horse is officially one of top five store pets because oh my gosh!

Are there any more Kirin inspired pets (outside of the OMGSR)? I want to start a group with just them because I love them so much!

The OMGSR was confirmed by the artist to be a Longma!
Kirin/qilin are the same creature, with different names in different countries.
This store pet set, Tyr's 2010 staff pet, this CNY deer, these CNY dogs, these store pets, the last deer here, and possibly some others are based on the kirin!


I am SO excited for these guys! I love natural cats and cat genetics so much. I wonder if we'll get any charcoal bengals 👀

I've decided I'm going to wait until my b-day later this month to get the kirin store pet! I'm in love with the colors and the way Koikee edited the lines! Those huge antlers and the long mane all the way down the back. <3

I do love the UR bengal but this guy is definitely more affordable! Nothing that green contacts can't fix

I thought its was a Qilin? Kirins are supposed to have the head and body of a deer, single horn, an ox tail and dragon scales, while Qilins have a dragon head, horse body, 2 horns, ox feet, lion tail and fish scales. And Longmas are a winged horse with dragon scales.
At least that's basically what each description is when I look them up.
(I'm kinda into mythology and mythical beings and finding out differences in similar creatures.)

No matter what it is, I love it so much! The store pets are all amazing and I'm so happy I can get them!

I think you're right about it being a Qilin, but Qilin also usually have a (set of) forward facing horn(s). They're also very commonly mixed up in media, aren't they? It's possible that it's just a mix of a few common depictions between the two

I'd also definitely say this is more a Kirin head, it's so much more slender than depictions of Qilin

I asked Koikee in a pm and this is what they wrote back:

Hi, I appreciate the compliment! I've been calling it a Kirin while making this store set since I can remember that name better (lol) but Qilin would fit the description of this pet better. I think either name would work though since I had both creatures in mind when making it. It is not a Longma.

So it could be called a Qilin or Kirin. Now my brain is happy to know

Ooh the dog litter has me excited!! I have been getting the Birthstone sets from the Store each month and setting them up with a dog from that month’s litter. I love browns and green together so Peridot is going to match with any/all, I love it edit to mention I’m curious about any links to last month’s litter as well…
