These chickens remind me of the sky at sunset. Maybe something like male twilight chicken (or twilight rooster), female twilight chicken (or twilight hen), dusk chicken, late sunset chicken, early sunset chicken, and sunset chick? Or if, dusk/twilight would be confusing, maybe something like purple sunset male/female and deep purple sunset? Just throwing out ideas!

I like that idea as well. It was actually one of my initial ideas, but I wasn't sure if maybe it would be better to have them all as evening/sunset themed. Definitely agree that the light one could easily be a sunrise though.

January 2017 - Foxes

These look quite natural-colored with a streak of a cold color. I would suggest something like:

Tan Blue Streak - Light Brown Green Streak- Dark Brown Violet Streak - Black Blue Streak PPS ?

Or something that is based off of: tan - light brown - dark brown - black?

February 2107 - Foxes

They remind of a cosmic sky, but since their body patterns are similar, maybe name them based on their faces? (unless there are specific constellations in their body markings)

Freckled Cosmic Fox - Light face / Eye-lined (?) / dark eared Cosmic Fox - Eyebrow Cosmic Fox?

Naming them based on their hind legs or tails would work too!

I like that idea for both sets of foxes. Though to me the "tan" fox looks more like cream, in which case the light brown one could be "tan" and the dark brown fox could just be "brown".

I didn't even notice the register the different facial markings on those foxes, but now that I see it I think it's a good distinction. To go with the tail suggestion it could be something like, dark sky, starry sky, and cloudy sky tails. For legs maybe cloudy hind leg, partially cloudy hind leg, and starry hind leg. Though personally I think I like the face/eye suggestions that you made the best.

The January 2018 Foxes look like they have been dusted with a little color. So maybe Dusted Fennec Foxes?

Just popping in real quick with a few notes on the 2017 easter bunnies;

I've seen the 2018 pps bumblebee bunny called bumblebun, not sure if its the most commonly accepted name, but would be good to make sure the name we pick for that bun can't get mixed up with the 2018 one;


The bird bunnies look like they are based off of real birds, didn't see any official confirmation, but these were the guesses off of the discussion thread. Maybe work those into the names?

So I did some research on the difference between bumblebees and honeybees. Bumblebees have way fewer and thick yellow stripes ( I think its 3, but bunny pps recreations are not 100% accurate, and that's ok, because they are cute anyways!) So I think this bunny bee PPS should be the BumbleBun:



Honeybees have more narrow and frequent stripes! So that's why I think that this bunny bee PPS should me called HoneyBun ( It would be funny and really cool to have the name be Honey-B-Bun, idk thats just me!):

Hey everyone, sorry for the super super long break! Turns out all of us involved were rather busy, but it's time to get back to business!
You'll notice the main posts of the thread have been transferred to the account of the General Helpers Adoption Alliance - this way our whole team can edit them from now on, and we don't have to push around poor Burr all the time :'D

Most litters from the last batch have been named and added to the wiki, but I'd like to finish naming the remaining litters still up on the front page real quick before putting new ones up, as I expect posting to start off a bit slow after such a long break.

Additionally, the PPS guides from 2008-2017 are now updated to include the correct numbers and images. 2018 is complete up until November, obviously there's still a month left to fill c:

I still need names for the February 2014 litter before I can call that year finished.

I haven't seen any suggestions for them yet; personally I've been thinking something along the lines of "Runic" / "Rune", referring to the patterns on them. The outcomes could simple be Rune Rooster / Blue Rune Hen / Yellow Rune Hen.

I also quite liked this suggestion:

Personally I've been calling them Crayon Foxes in my head, maybe something like Crayon Dust or Chalk Dust could work. I'm always a fan of when a litter name makes you go "ah, THOSE!", but if y'all think going for just 'dusted' sounds better that still works just fine IMO.^^
I'd just go Blue Dusted instead of light blue, though (there's no dark blue adult, after all), and just Dusted PPS, as it's the only PPS in the litter anyway.

As for this whole litter:

I think the easiest way to avoid confusion with other bunnies would be to add "costume" to their names. Bee Costume makes it easy to tell apart from the Bumblebun, and "Butterfly Costume" would help to avoid issues with "Butterfly Bun" / "Butterbun", since that's already a firmly established name for the winged bunny lineart as a whole.
So Flower Costume / Bee Costume / Butterfly Costume / Ladybug Costume ?

I like the "cosmic foxes" name for the starry fennec litter, but the outcome names definitely seem to be tricky.
I like the tail idea for clear sky/starry sky/cloudy sky, though.

I agree, now that you say it, Blue Dusted and Dusted PPS sound way better! I also agree with the costume bunnies, since they do look like they are dressed up.

Alright, apart from two very persistent little lamb buns all previously posted litters have been named!
I've put up a few new ones in need of names - check them out here :)

A Guide to GUPPS exists now, as does one for Animal Eggs, so feel free to take a look and let us know if anything is off or looks disorganized.

I've also compiled a guide on "throwback" Christmas litters - (pets based off previous designs, pets based off items, you know 'em!) - that tells people what they're based on and when the originals were released.
They're not public yet, but once they are I'd be happy to know if they're good~

This litter without a doubt reminds me of an art technique called marbling - you mix water with other pigments that are oil/alcohol based and can make cool swirly patterns. Maybe something along the lines of:

Marbled Yellow - Marbled Swirl - Light Marbled? Apart from the first one (which is mostly yellow), the other two are a bit hard to distinguish by the names alone, hopefully someone else will have a suggestion too!

Quick note that I plan on replacing them, they're just a temporary addition since people commonly ask to see past Christmas litters when the new ones come out, and I wanted to have them available on time.
As a replacement I'm working on complete year-by-year guides of lookalike pets that will also include April Fool's pets and the Easter bunny versions of old pets.^^

To build off Birchii's suggestions, I think White neck might be a bit more fitting for the one on the far right ? Or alternatively Yellow Leg (Stripes) for the one in the middle, and White forelegs for the one on the right? It's a bit of a mouthful, but just throwing out another idea ^_^

I feel like some sort of 'committee' could be set up, or a thread where users can also regularly vote on names they are likely to use if we're unable to find the 'right' name!
