I think I fall into the hoarder category....I came onto this site, saw they had rats (I own them in RL) and was like, I MUST OWN ONE OF EVERY TYPE! I want at least two of every kind...Wish listed them all lol. So I guess I'm more of a species hoarder than anything else. Thanks to them having one of the 'lowest values' on this site it makes it alot easier, people seem happier to trade rats than anything, the only reason I get the other types of pets is so I can eventually trade them for better rats :p Though I think I would like 3 of the Tess tiger rats, make a mini hoard of them But they are very rare so it might take a while.

I see what you're asking I think. You're not talking about affecting the actual listed rarity and value as there's no way to do that other than deleting thousands of a certain outcome or as Olivia's shown by adopting thousands upon thousands of a particular set of pets. (this can't happen any more because there are adoption limits now)
But a perfect example of what you're theorizing about is the member with the huge Black Advent hoard. I believe she's single handedly increased their value. There are far far less of them in circulation so the ones you do come across people value far above any other equal rarity '08 Advents.
In order to affect the relative value of CE Galaxies like this I think you'd have to manage to gather up quite a few.

I don't think Tif simply having a lot is what raised their apparent price, it's that she was offering outrageously for them for a while there. It's also the fact that they were already quite popular before that too. I think at one point she offered a Joker for 2 or 3 Black Advents...

And it was me who traded for the Joker :P

I used to have over 700 of grey 2nd gens, now I have less, I decided to delete them all to see if the rarity changes.
But it would take so long to click so many times D: I may end up keeping them and trading for more lol I want that record back!

I would add, don't hoard something just because its that kind of holiday. (example: hoarding bunnies because its easter.) Its easy to give up on once the holiday is over.

I think you should add not to hoard something because of a current holiday. (ie starting to hoard Christmas pets in december)
A. There will be lots of hype about them
B. You may be exited about the holiday and once its over you may lose interest.

but that's my opinion.

There are many users with holiday hoards- several of them on the record list I might add.
Some people really adore the holiday and try to celebrate it no matter what day it is. Yes, it does get more challenging to find Christmas pets to trade for in July but that's part of the game.

I think this is a very good guide. I Hoard,But not very hard hoards. I strongly disagree with some people,I have heard people saying it should be banned. I also see people who don't trade with hoarders. I find it disrespectful That it seems like we're different. We just really enjoy a pet,Not to be mean but People should keep negative to themselves,But again this is their opinion ^^. Anybody agree/Disagree with me?
